I think I'll extend this for a week, seeing as how of today, all models should be readily accessible on the PTR. The news messages were somewhat conflicted, but since I'm 99% sure everything should be set now I'll give everybody another seven days to conjure up some terrains.
Since these landscapes people show aren't terrain anyway, rather cutscenes' background, I'll show a couple of scenes from my game, as they look kinda warcraftish. Models are from WoW, SC2 and some of them are made by me.
The main reason is because terraining as a 'field' is way more accessible. Triggering and data editing are 90% problem solving and involve barely any creativity. Sure, someone with a lot of know-how can appreciate a nice work-around another person made through triggers, but the vast majority of people don't really get anything out of looking at three screenshots of trigger libraries. With terraining, the result is so immediate and so obvious that anyone can enjoy it. On top of that, since terrains are never really 'done' even the biggest noob can give the greatest terrainer useful feedback by just focusing in on small details that the original terrainer simply hasn't looked at.
It also helps that 5 or 6 of us regulars still hang around this forum and still once in a while spend anywhere between 2 and 8 hours on a terrain, take a pic, and toss it up.

Here's what I came up with. Most of the doodads in this pic are all from the Wc3 HD models but clouds, lighting, the roof, and trees are all Sc2.

Hey those snow flakes all look the same! What is this witchcraft?

Your observant note gave me an idea of creating a system of particle systems that would generate differently looking snowflakes.

I don't even know how you terraining guys get enough activity to do something weekly. Our monthly triggering exercise has turned to bi-yearly haha.
