The Antioch Chronicles: Remastered
What is this?
This is the first release of a StarCraft 2 remake of the seminal StarCraft custom campaign known as the Antioch Chronicles. This project is a high-fidelity reproduction of the original campaign with few enhancements taking advantage of the StarCraft 2 editor.
This version contains both episode 1 and 2 of the campaign. It uses the StarCraft: Mass Recall mod, which the creators were generous enough to allow us to use.
What is the Antioch Chronicles?
In 1998, not long after StarCraft was released, a mapmaker calling himself Auspex Turmalis (Ruben Moreno) released episode 1 of a custom campaign that he called The Antioch Chronicles. The campaign featured custom audio, perhaps most notable for how well Auspex reproduced the Protoss audio effects. Also impressive was the fact that Auspex recorded all of the character voices himself.
Episode 2 was released in 1999. For the second campaign, creative duties were split between Auspex and Zeus Legion (Eric Dieter), with additional voice support acting by Ytse-Jam (Juan Mantilla) and Macbeth (Eric Ladd). By the release of Episode 2, the Antioch Chronicles had gathered a large and active fan base.
Episode 3
Unfortunately, a promised Episode 3 was canceled. However, Team Antioch, with the support of the Original Creators, has released our own version, which you can download at https://www.sc2mapster.com/projects/thoughts-in-chaos . Still, the first two episodes did much to shape the early StarCraft modding community and remain in the popular conscious fifteen years later. Installation Instructions:
Download the mappack "Antioch Remastered 2.2" and the modfile "Thoughts in Chaos - Mod".
Create a "Maps" and "Mods" folder inside your main StarCraft II folder if they don't exist already.
Extract the contents of the two zipfiles into the "Maps" and "Mods" folders.
Note: Older versions of Antioch Remastered (v2.0 and lower) use the old modfile which is included in the mappack download. However it is unused in the newest version, and can be deleted.
Also, older versions require the modfiles from the Mass Recall campaign, which can be found here.
How to play:
Open the file "Antioch Campaign Launcher.SC2Map", which is located under "Maps->Antioch Remastered", in the editor.
Then, press the Test Document button (the StarCraft II logo at the top-right). Alternatively, use the shortcut Ctrl+F9 once the mapfile has finished loading in the editor.

Thanks
This project wouldn't be possible without the generous support of Auspex Turmalis, the Star Craft: Mass Recall team, the Custom Campaign Initiative, Jayborino, and the entire SC2Mapster community. Thank you.

Cannot play this map from Launcher says 'Cant open Map', the only way to play is to load every single map individually from Editor. This gets tiring and ruins interest pretty fast.
My suggestion to the mapmakers is to make a single comprehensible launcher for all 3 Episodes. This will make this amazing campaign more famous, more accessible and definitely more loved. This definitely deserves way more downloads than a measly thousand it got so far.
Is there a way to merge all 3 Episodes into a single Launcher or at least use Mass Recall to play this, because opening up the Editor everytime to load a mission is a total pain in the ass
Hi, guys! Thank you for new version!
Is there a change log for it? :)
Hiya,
When you say there's custom audio does that include custom music, as in songs from other, non-Blizzard, games or some other source?
I just ask as I want to do a playthrough for this on YouTube but I like to play it safe when it comes to copyright.
In reply to Palnai2:
The audio part refers to the voice effects on the Protoss voice actors. There is no custom music.

Fantastic, thank you for the response!
In reply to Forge_User_24010345:
Within the credits menu in the launcher, it credits Kevin MacLeod for two songs presumably used within the campaign and I found another in the sound list within the editor.
Maybe I used the wrong terminology, but what I meant was is there any music that isn't native to StarCraft or Blizzard properties in general within the campaign?
In reply to Palnai2:
Yes, the tracks from Kevin MacLeod are not from StarCraft, but those are licensed under creative commons and therefore free.
Nobody is gonna copyright strike you for playing the campaign, if that is what you're asking.
In reply to Forge_User_24010345:
I know though you do need to credit his work, according to his website.
I wasn't worried about the campaign itself, it's just that some artists, companies, or agencies can be touchy about their work being used or it being used in conjunction with properties owned by other people, see Square Enix's Material Usage policy for example; I just like playing it safe but if it really is just Kevin MacLeod then I should be fine.
Why no difficulty choices for first 3 missions of Episode I? That looks inconsistent.

Chaos modfile is missing. And URL are broken!

Yeah, it would be great to have a "definitive" version of The Antioch Chronicles, with everything in the same menu!
And I've heard that back then there were drafts for several more missions for Episodes 1 & 2.
I'm just dreaming but it would be fantastic to have a huge campaign with even more missions and lore. :)

Hello.
Been long time since I checked on this mod. Ep3 looks really good. Do you guys still have plans to combine Ep3 with this or will they remain separate.
I feel like I'm missing something, but mission 6 of ep1 seems almost impossible. Is it supposed to be 8-10 mutas attacking from top and bottom every minute? I don't have time to setup impenetrable defenses before they attack, and don't have the resources to do that as well as build a ton of units.
When I watched jayborino's playthrough, he wasn't getting half as many units as me, though he also didn't have mox and gurney's special abilities that I do. While mox's ability makes holding the front gate pretty trivial, gurney can't be in two places at once and there's just too many mutas.
Maybe someone with crazy micro could pull it off, but that seems like a high level of difficulty to set the map at. I thought maybe I could just pull back and create a good point of defense, but if the mutas destroy the sci facility I lose.
Also, my main base got attacked by 15-20 mutas right as I first went into the underground mission portion, which didn't happen in playthroughs. They kept attacking when camera was switched, and upgrades finished as well, leading to me to believe it didn't 'pause' like it was supposed to.
Anyway, I can't imagine it was intended to be this hard, which makes me think I've got some kind of bug causing issues. I've had some issues with other maps where things like portrait pics and abilities didn't show up correctly. Any ideas? Has the main sc2 game been changed and it's causing these older maps to just not work?
