As you probably know, my War3 Mod has already published to the PTR server.
I didn't do any popularize or formal announcement yet. But it looks like there are already a bunch of people have noticed it.
I even saw a video recorded by some Russian people.
I have to say thanks since I didn't even recorded any trailer for it myself.
I think we can use a single sub-forum for all the war3 discussion. but I will use this thread as a bug report thread first.

In the end, this mod is a public mod which supposed to help Modders to create more fantasy-themed maps. And the melee map on the PTR arcade is just a sample, it's not necessary lead to formal competition or even e-sports.
Due to engine difference, it is impossible to make every details of this mod exactly the same with war3. Something may can be mimic by triggers, but some of them may consume insane resources which would never worth to do. So some differences are intended from the beginning.
I will still add the group hp bar to the console though, it consume resources too, but not too much. I just haven't applied it yet:)
Plus: It's basically no other condition to use my mods to do your maps, it open sourced, and it's a public mod that your maps could directly set dependency on - Just do not steal the mods and then claim it's your original work (Such things happened before)
Though I do have hope that, in the future, if this mod could have some influences in the gamers, then we may have chance to get directly engine support for war3 thing & even more fantasy themed things.
I also agree Warcraft 3 should get its own sub-forum, but with the advice to create threads with technical topics (data/triggers etc) within their respective sub-forums. This way the SC2 community still benefits.
I really want to see a recreation of war3 melee maps and everything from it and most importantly a battle net to have a ladder with it. Since it looks like what a CS mod was for half life, I wonder if Blizz go beyond that.and really do a melee mod out of it. Some say that when Blizz does this, they see if people like warcraft and can make a new warcraft. This is wrong. exactly adding these models are to satisfy our war3 needs so that they don't have to create a new warcraft...
Your project looks really good, I'd love to play it but this should have been an official game release or mod by Blizzard, they should have made what you're doing instead of this 'Heroes of the storm' bs dammit!
It's great but the fact that this is not a game, will really not feel like you're playing war3 again.
On a side note.. how does unit pathing go ? Is this also made to be like in war3, wcause we know the death balls in sc2 arent a good pathing.
Renee: How to remove the (Red Aura (or whatever color depending on player) for Hero model ? Each hero have a little AURA attached to them on the ground, im looking for a way to remove it completly, cant find it in data.
Where is it?
and bonus question: What is the timer on top of the screen? Time of day? How to remove this?
Change Zerg Creep into Warcraft 3 Blight for the Undead. I think it might be more than just a texture swap considering how terrain works, but just an idea if anyone gets this working.

you cant select items
the Race-UI and -music seem to be random. I was playing night-elf with orcish UI and undead background-music
Why is the time-of-day on the right side and not on the top like in WC3?
Goblin Shredder is harvesting trees much faster as in WC3 (at least the animation happens more often, playing the annoying sound constantly). Furthermore he gets stuck fairly often while trying to harvest a tree out of his range
if all your heroes have full inventory, you cant select vendors anymore (even if you just want to look at its items)
the cyclone of "Wand of the Wind" persists longer than it's effect on the enemy unit. Also the unit spins a bit weird (the unit is laying down and then spinning around its Y-Axis, would look better if the unit would not lay down). Furthermore the unit just appears on the ground instantly when the effect ends
when the gold you get from enemy mobs is higher than 100 the text above said unit just says "+1..."
there are some places on the map where there is water clipping through the map (see attached screenshots, 1 & 2 dont show the actual clipping but still its there)

there are no numbers indicating when lumber or gold is farmed above the corresponding tree/gold mine

Still there are some thing that aren't bugs.
Can't select xxx: You need to enable 'Select uncontrable Unit' option in SC2's GamePlay menu.
Race-UI: You can't pick race on battle.net lobby. So actually all races are actually orcs, with trigger created starting Units for the for races. Waiting for
Gold/Lumber Text Tag: Currently temporary disabled since the system is undergoing a change. Actually if you have played a older version, you would noticed they are there.
TOD label: Currently you just can't tell a model to 'animate with the time of day speed'. You can only assign a fixed speed, though it would works for melee map, it can't match the custom maps, since the tod speed could be varied, the model can't synchronous with the tod, unless if you synchronous it with trigger continuously, with isn't good for the performance. So the label is a temporary solution.
I will adjust the 1... and the Shredder soon, also the water wave
not really a suggestion , but a question of how for 2 things.
1) how did you create the top left hero ui ( displaying life bar and mana bar with picture)?
2) how to prevent items from being purchased if your inventory is already full?
Qustion 1 is a big question, it's actually not so easy to be answered in a reply. But since the mod is open-sourced, you can totally download it and see the code behind that. It's not so different with the Kerrigan UI in the official campain.
There is a validator in data editor that could validate if the unit's inventory is full.

I'm trying to find where it is determined what stats level up on the hero, and i'm trying to determine why the hero stops leveling at level 5 against creep. I know there is something determines it, in the behavior maybe, but i can't find it :)
I found what determines the level 5 against creep, but now i just can't find where the heroes default stat values are raised :D

Go to the ‘User Type’ sheet, find the Hero Balance entry.
The instance ids are hero id, and the values are the stats for each level.
I didn't do it by set separate veterancy for each hero because I will need to track one single hero behavior for all wc3 heroes, so that it could provide more war3-style mod experience.
Great, thanks Renee. I'll let you know when i've finished recreating rabbits V sheep, i think you'll be impressed as to how much your mod can quickly escalate the mapping process if you weren't already aware :)
BTW - got all my heroes the ability to learn attribute bonus (something you only applied to a handful of heroes), but is there a way to create a button on the unit saying they've learned attribute bonus? I can do it myself, but i just mean build it into the mod.
BTW ALSO RENEE! Ankh Of Reincarnation doesn't seem to work if you put it into their inventory through Data, which means, if a hero purchases a ankh or finds one later, it will work, if a hero is created with it inventory, it doesn't work. Work around for this?

Awesome! Where did you find the original map campaign map? It is not in any folder I can see.

The melee pathing in the mod is definitely not the 'deathball' pathing - if that is what you are asking.
But please keep in mind that this mod is never mean to be a 'copy' of war3, it a mod that allows you to create new maps with all war3 stuffs.

Go to the hero actor, find the event line:
ActorrCreation
Create War3_HeroGlow
Remove it and the heroes won't have glow.
That timer is a temporary frame of TOD clock. It doesn't have easy way to remove it right now, but I will add this feature soon.
I will be in travel soon so I would add this after the travel.

It's in, download the latest version and find the Trurn Time of Day Label On/Off action in the War3 Extra (GA).
