Thoughts? Also at some point I'm going to go through and do a final compare of current SC2 to Void, and put something together that is a bit more comprehensive then my last spiel about editor changes.
My thoughts are simple. I imagined, how useful would be the browser plugin, that would automatically remove from incoming html code any sentence, that would contain both "Blizzard" and future tense. Blizzard produces two things, games and marketing. The later is unwanted.
Fair enough, however, marketing is necessary and we may not want it, plenty of people do, despite what they may say. Also, in this specific case, this was not marketing, this was official reporting to investors, so lying or bending the truth here here has major ramifications, both legal and financial.
I don't know if i am too happy it comes so soon, not even 24 months after HotS... Phillip Gonzales said that a lot of stuff on HotS were cutted off due to deadline problems, like Zerus story arch, Sylvan boss model and the ton of deleted data we can find on the Editor, here my doubts:
How LotV cannot be rushed too if half of the team StarCraft team was splitted because he had to work HARD on Heroes of the Storm?
How many cutted stuff we will find on the Editor ?
How rushed will be the story (don't dare to spoiler me!) ?
I am too afraid that they launch it so fast only because they know that SC2 is not worthy (on a sells standpoint)
Fair points. However it was stated from the community summit that the SC2 team is standalone from the Storm team and it is bigger than ever. Also they stated that they have plans for things beyond release. As for rushing it, 9 month beta isn't entirely what I would called rushed, though yes, it may feel short due to what we feel should be in the game at launch date.
Personally, I'm hoping we see a patch with the editor in it before launch.

Currently at work so I can't listen to the call (if there is any to listen to). I'm comparing this news to news from August and November 2012 where they said HOTS would be released first half of 2013; it makes it sound like Morhaime actually means 2015, and not (up to) March 2016.
Additionally in November 2012 they announced the exact release date for March 2013. Four months. Going by this logic a release date for LOTV on December 2015 should be announced this month. ... Also taking into account that WOL was release end of july 2010 and HOTS took 31,5 months to be released (Mid march 2013) another 31,5 months would mean end of November 2015.
Blizzard is actually holding a 30 minute-press conference at gamescom (germany) in around 90 minutes. Sounds like a good time to announce a date :) I'll report as soon as I find out something.
Just played allied commanders at gamescom. They redesigned that train mission for 2 players. I was protoss, my ally was zerg. Got to build up our bases. I could also use those LOTV campaign abilities from the giant ship: Bombardment (switches GUI and lets you bombard specific locations 4-5 times), instantly create pylon energy field at any location, add supercharged shields to all units. Could build Dragoons(!), and zealots with new model and a new spinning ability. Ally could use Kerrigan. Couldnt see any other special/new things about zerg. Very nice: got code to LotV beta.
damn it. campaign button is greyed out, even though it said "pre-order" when I entered the game code. Well, guess it's only multiplayer until the editor is released.

I hope so, it would be a huge missed opportunity otherwise. I also hope that custom maps for this mode will have an own category within or even besides the arcade, and that blizz will support & feature maps of this type as they did with arcade and melee maps. If they do, then this mode definitely wont lack content.
Or at the very least give it its own category in the arcade. The arcade has been needing categories for mission, single player, and co-op maps for a long time.

Legacy of the Void to be released in 2015

well, the pre-sale already stated that the game would come 'winter this year->March next year'
So I won't say it's a rush if they say this year.
In personal, I won't mind the release date of the game itself. Jut give me the new editor already!
i would state the same if i wanted to sell a game
The fiscal year ends march 31...
it's an investors call... so... The website is stupid^^
If Mike Morhaime says 2015, it will be 2015.
It doesn't feel rushed at all. Also: 24 months after HOTS would be March this year.

And the Reaver is going to be playable, at least I think so. If you have a close eye on the new Allied Commanders video.
Nice, nice, nice.
Site for Allied Commanders is up: http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/19829510/legacy-of-the-void-allied-commanders-preview-05-08-2015

Sounds cool!
Awesome!!
I wonder if Allied Commander will be a feature in the editor?
