I'm not sure where you've come from Telthalion, but you're an inspiration, keep up the good work =P
That said, all you other guys are doing an awesome job as well. Just wanted to put Tel in the spotlight after his brilliantly true and kind reply to Reaper.
Yeah, it did make me feel better. Anyway, It's too late today to do anything but maybe tomorrow if I got time I'll see what I can manage. Also, since this weeks WTE is winding down I hope the next one will be something I can get a jump on right away. Jeez with all this April vacation going on I feel kinda lazy to do well, anything. Then again, school starts on Monday so idk if I will be able to do WTE#30 or what.
Here we go, haven't contributed to these for a long time but I got a new computer now, which means I can actually work on maps while watching movies at the same time, which increased my productivity a lot :)
A bit different, I know I didn't use the actual Tileset a lot, or terrain in general for that matter. It's a small space station under attack by Terran forces.
I don't think spacecraft need landing lanes like you put them down, but they look great nevertheless. Good example of "makes no sense with our known rules of physics, but still looks completely natural and works".
Nice going Gurg! When I put up the WTE I really only had Dominion 'bases' in mind, was hoping to see military compounds in space, with barrackses and flags and that jazz. People have turned that idea around and while spacecraft hangars/repair facilities are grand, you simply took the protoss approach. The reason I didn't mention this in the OP was because I didn't really think anybody would be able to make a 'protoss military compound', but you've made it work fairly well - I can imagine that is what a Protoss spatial base would look like. Good job!
ive decided to enter this one but ive hit a problem: when i open the editor i cant have a blank space all i get is a very thin layer of texture: i cant get the floor to vanish! please help!
and how do i get rid of the cliffs having this in them: the grounfd like slopes into the cliff?!
I'll refer to the terraining FAQ for that. Your problem seems to be that your height field is set too high, though. Use the 'change height field' option and lower your height a bit and see what happens.
I am so sorry if this is a bit off topic, but it would kill me if i didn't correct you.
There are not 29 atoms in copper (Cu), because copper itself is an element and therefore takes the form of an atom.
The number 29 is somehwhat correct as copper has 29 protons, and it also has 34 neutrons and if neutral, 29 electrons. It is 63.546 atomic mass units.
Anyways, I love your work and you are a great contribution to this website.
Haha, I lol'd. I probably said it wrong anyway - 29 is the atomic number of copper, not 'the number of atoms in copper'. According to Wikipedia, anyway.
Well, I think I might have already entered this, if so, I can whip something else before the event ends. This is the inside of a massive ship, conceivably large enough to house a massive fleet of starships. These screens are taken from my map Cortex Roleplay - Derelict. What you are seeing here is the inside of the Derelict. When I made it I had the Derelict Reaper in mind, from ME2.
Heya guys, I know it's late, just thought I'd post it here and see what you guys thought! Just joined up and saw this exercise - thought I'd test the water, possibly do the other training exercise later on too :)
@Telthalion: Go
If you want, I can record your map in 1080p so it looks better lol
@ZeroAme: Go
If you want to, go for it. ;)
Uploaded the map so people can look around and see how things are put together.

If you are having trouble to figure things out with terraining there was this thread a long time ago that used cool doodad usage to make things.. might help you a bit http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/terrain/3475-creative-doodad-uses/?page=4#p70
Step 1: Don't panic.
Step 2: Open the editor
Step 3: Create a map
Step 4: Go in the camera tab
Step 5: Create your first camera
Step 6: Move a little bit and dont change too much the angle
Step 7: Create your second camera
Step 8: Repeat the steps 6 and 7
Step 9: Go in your triggers
Step 10: Create a new trigger
Step 11: Use "Apply camera object" with the default setting and a duration of 4 seconds (could vary depending of the distance between your cameras)
Step 12: Use "Wait" with a duration of 3 seconds. (set the time with 1 second less than the "Apply camera object")
Step 13: Repeat steps 11 and 12
Step 14: Ctrl+F9
Step 15: Hope and don't panic.
:)
Working on projects:
My attempt, a bit rushed im afraid.

been away a bit, but back for a little and thought id contribute, not alot of time for this weeks, so its only a portion of what i wanted to make.

I've got a bit bored whilst doing this, It's not finished, could have added a lot more. But I thought I just post something just before this WTE ends.
