Another late upload due to business on my part, but hopefully the last one for a bit. This week's theme shall be "Enter the Nexus". While we've had the Daelaam Ark exercise, this time I'd like to see what you guys think that specifically the insides of a Protoss Nexus look like. What happens in there and what does it look like?
Sounds like a cool one, I will try something a bit more experimental for my submission if I am able to achieve / finish it. :)
Edit: Here is my experimental terrain, it may look like not much at first glance, but then look at it again with the knowledge that the portal is water ;) (making this terrain made my head hurt haha, the camera functions get really funky when you start reversing X Y and Z)
I could not figure out how to move the water to fit in the portal, and I wanted a sort of reflecting portal thing, so I moved the entire structure sideways using pitch and roll ;) so all the floor panels on the ground are placed by using height (Z) , and height (Z) is actually X, and Y is the same.
The Idea originated when I thought how cool it might be if I made a window out of water, put the alpha down, and had a slight reflection to make a massive glass window, then use pitch and roll. but if I am honest I should have designed it normally first, then figure out how to rotate the building, because it is difficult to place anything.
Tried something. At least I tried. The lightning isn't right at all, but I think it's getting pretty similar to what I wanted to do... does anyone remember this scene?
Weekly Terraining Exercise #142
Hey hey people!

Good luck, and have fun!

Oh goodness gracious! I commend you for the amount of work put in good sir! Once I free up a little bit of time I will design my (mediocre) map!

What did you use for the walls of your temple?
@joecab: Go
I was going to say it's not one of your best terrains but knowing that that portal is water just makes it extremely impressive.
Surprized you did not just mess with the SMX1_SpawningPoolWaterPlane model. Or the other water plane models.

because I did not know the model existed ha. (also, it is good to challenge yourself :) )

Still have to fail you for impracticality with regards to gameplay (very hard to play up a wall).

Very nice! I like that watery portal. And looks like a nice interior. Maybe that's what it looks like, good job with the walls.
