Go to the Cutscenes editor and look at what animations the model used by your actor has. Under the Event: Events+ fields of your actor for your unit create an event of the Ability message type that uses an Animation Play action.

my unit does the animation but it is cancelled when he auto attacks or moves after the ability. Is there anyway to force the animation to finish? Like I'm using zeratul as my hero and playing spell a animation where he spins around. I want him to play the whole spin regardless if he auto attacks or moves.
For some reason I am not finding very good actor related tutorials.
I just want to make the unit use an attack or cast animation when casting an ability.

set the Time Type to duration under the Play Animation actor event action?

I remember way back I experimented with the 'time' of the abilities.
Down side is the unit will be unable to move before the attack animation is finish, which is kind of making the unit a sitting duck.
Anyway you should probably do a trial and error with them until you find which one suit your need best.
