DaveSpectre's Assets
I do all kinds of different kitbashes and retextures.
I am currently struggling with burnout and I am learning to live in some healthy balance. That means I will not release models very often, but sometimes I will make some when I feel like it. So I guess you could consider me semi-retired ? Anyway, I am not doing any requests for the moment, until my mind is healed, which might take a long time. So please do not ask any requests of me, no exceptions (Asking for a fix if model is broken is not a problem). But I still want to do at least some models and share them with you. Hopefully you will find some of them useful :)
Stay healthy and don't forget to rest regularly ! :)
Here you can find a list of models I want to make one day (Note that there is no order to this list): Models I want to make
I would also love to continue making story maps that would include my own models (But that's probably only a dream now. I have very little time and energy for that).
And last but not least, I'd really love to do more commander concepts with videos, because people seem to love those, of course those would require additional models and lot of them. You can find the list of potential commander concepts that I currently have in mind here: List of potential Commander Concepts (on the bottom of the page).
Original credits go to Activision Blizzard and their respective authors. Most of my stuff is made from their models, textures and voicelines, which means, don't use my assets for any commercial purposes. Otherwise you are free to use my models as you want including edits. Crediting is not necessary as long as you don't claim the model as your own. For edited models, I'd like to be credited as original author.

Yes, the portrait model being too large was the issue. Scaling it down to 25% of what it originally was now looks much better on Higher Graphics
In reply to TheBeaver102:
This was scaled down in Blender btw, so the model download probably needs to be scaled down by 25% to make it appear correct on high graphics

In reply to TheBeaver102:
Also for me at least, once its scaled down it seems to lose some of its glow/emissiveness on the eyes
In reply to TheBeaver102:
Interesting. Also great job on making it work !
I will have a look at it if I don't forget xD
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Here's the version of it that I modded in Blender to make it work, but the glow on the eyes is off. I just divided the size and XYZ positions of all 4 meshes by 4 and then the size of the armature by 4 as well.
Hopefully this link works:

In reply to TheBeaver102:
Thank you. I guess it could all have been scaled down at once. You ould probably save some time on that. I will try to do something about the eyes.
Oh, finally back! Where did Dave disappear?
In reply to chekagranati:
I did not disappear :D
I just got a little overworked with models and needed a break. Needed to do something else for a while. This time a cosplay. I tend to have these breaks, you can probably see it when you look at the release dates of my models, there should be some big time gaps. (EDIT: Or not, I've checked myself and I never had a break this long, only a month or so)
+ I also got some changes in my personal life, some good, some bad, but mainly time consuming, so I really didn't have much time for anything, but hopefully it is slowly getting back to normal.
But I still don't know when I will release something next.
Hello I downloaded char Brood Baneling when I imported the model into my map, the model only lights up how can I fix it
Thanks in advance
In reply to hochlordflo:
Hello,
You probably imported the textures into the wrong folder. Look up the comments bellow. I've described this to other people as well.
If it doesn't help, please let me know.
Hello i just want to ask if your models have animations? Like if I add hold fire/weapons free to your rogue nova model will it do the thing? And attacks too does it attack properly? I am a noob sorry. If i connect certain animations to your models will it work like that?
In reply to jpnzln:
Yep, they do have animations. And Nova has those you mentioned. However the hold fire animation is broken by import into the editing software, so the gun doesn't get hidden and stays in her hand. Unfortunately I can't fix that. Rest should work fine.
If you open the imported model in the cutscene editor, you can also see / try all the animations.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Thank you for responding! The hold fire was just an example anyway and isn't really important. Thank you again your models are amazing! I will try them out.
In reply to jpnzln:
You're welcome :) And thank you :)
Hey! First off, I wanted to tell you that I love what you are doing here, Second off, I've recently been teaching myself how to use the SC2 editor, and I started to create a modified Tal'darim Faction, Of which I wanted to use your Tal'darim Adun Immortal Skin, but when I downloaded it and loaded it into the editor, it was just glowing white and wouldn't stop, and I can't seem to find anything like it, is there a way to fix it? Or is it part of the download side? Either way, I've seen that you haven't been as active so you might not see this, but I appreciate all this anyway
In reply to Enoki5708:
Did you, when importing, put the textures in the path "Assets/Textures", just like that, no differences?
In reply to Enoki5708:
Hello. I'm glad you like my work. And don't worry I see this. I might not make models anymore, but i still check here almost daily :)
For your issue. I'm almost sure that the sollution CerberusSC2 suggested is the right one. All the textures from the downloaded need to be in subfolders "Assets/Textures/" in the import window. Not a folder less or more. For example let's say you have texture named: "Image.dds", then it needs to be like this: "Assets/Textures/Image.dds", that way it will work.
If you have it for example like this: "AdunImmortalTaldarim/Assets/Textures/Image.dds" or this: "Textures/Image.dds" it won't work.
Also once you have the textures in right place, it might be required to save your map/mod and reload the editor for the textures to apply to the model.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Thanks! I appreciate you work and your help.
In reply to Enoki5708:
You're welcome :)
Always glad to help !
The "center" attachement point of Spear is not so well spotted on the model. I mean.. it is sad when you have it buffed/debuffed with model animations that are simply not at the right place. It also gives some silly rotation from the selection circle. Do you think it's worth improving?
