Some of these look pretty decent, like the new phoenix, owl scouts and the orc heroes. Some look pretty awful, like Blood Mage portrait and the Undead guys. I'm still happy that this frees up some of the work I had planned. It's still better than using straight-up War3 or WoW models for some of these guys.
Kael'thas and Arthas portraits will haunt my nightmares for weeks... Tyrande will be on my dreams... The lich sounds cool, even if I don't understand why a skeleton would have angry eyes;)
Look at LoL or DotA 2, the busty brainless c*nts are here, Tyrande has bigger air bags only for the RTS camera, look at her on heroes of the storm, the chest is smaller
For the record they have a data mod with most of the stuff we want. So what I can see, the following data is present: Abilties, Actors, Alerts, Attach Methods, Behaviors, Buttons, Cursors, Effects, Footprints, Items (but it is strange), Model Data, Movers, Race, Requirements, Sound, Units, Validators, and weapons. Not necessarily everything for the following is there but the majority of stuff is present.
There's literally everything in here. Everything from naga buildings to Arthas rocking out with the speakers made of ice, and even the Arthas vs Illidan fight scene doodad.
The heroes that did not get a HD remake are;
Firelord
Tinker
Alchemist
Beastmaster
All of the campaign heroes (Jaina, human Arthas, undead Arthas, Archimonde etc)
Kil'jaeden is in as a bonus HD model, since he only had a cinematic model in WC3.
Some of the HD models look unfinished. For example, the serrated blades on the Warden hero's cloak have some black texture surrounding the blades.
Some of the animations are pretty janky but that's nothing that some animation blending won't fix. Non-issue.
All spell effects are in. Some look great and are going to be well needed in the sc2 model pool, like the aura models. Others understandably show their age.
I'm really curious why all the demon units got HD remakes. I wonder if Blizzard planned something?
Pretty much every model uses a 2-step death animation. For heroes, it's "Death" and then "Dissipate". For every other unit it's "Death" and then "Decay". Unit deaths do leave behind skeletons like in wc3.

Also, there seems to be something wrong with the Necropolis model's skull. See how it was in WC3 and compare to this one, it looks like it got twisted.
The war3 dependency is only an asset mod. There's multiplayer and campaign data files included separately, though I have no idea how to add them as a dependency, if it's even possible right now. It seems this whole thing is in alpha phase, which makes sense why its on PTR instead of just thrown at us live. We'll need more info on what the direction of this content will be, since everything seems very haphazard in how everything's currently unconnected.
Can someone make a more indepth post about getting the WC3 units and such added? I added the 'Warcraft III (Art Mod)" and nothing shows up in the data viewer at all, so I am fairly lost at how to get them added.

It's up on the PTR. Unfortunately it's a 15gb download for the whole thing.
You can get it through the BNET launcher, SC2 just change your client region to PTR

Seems like they missed the beam models, is it because the difference of method for processing beams between WC3 and SC2?
Guys, i downloaded all the ptr stuff and i added the wc3.scmod dependency but there is no model, no unit nothing?! I missed a step?

Went ahead and made a post on The hive workshop...
Looks like this move signals the end of wc3 modding, its about time, that engine is dated, and the sc2 engine has so many more possibilities.
