Can someone tells me what's going to be changed with editor when its for melee update. OR is that engine update to version 3.0? :D
If you have read that blue, it is stated : No Melee Balance Change.
So what else do you think it would change? 'Let just change our game version number from 2.1 to 3.0 and don't apply any void/heroes engine update, so that the player would be cheated and think they will get big update, but they won't Muhahahaha'?
Also Traysent said the old replys won't be able to used after that.
Plus, engine pre-patch is what's blizzard always do, if you have played previous SC2 or WoW expansions.
Whatever it means nothing good for your maps for sure XD. Will have to adapt them for the new version. Hey man i will boost your reputatiuon by 2 points can you plz make same to me?
Isn't it pretty silly to have this RTC contest, to push out a lot of new content for the arcade; and then have all of it destroyed shortly after? I'm sure many projects wont be updated. Many of the top played games on the arcade haven't been updated in years.
well, if you guys watched the few-words-from-developers vid that happens right before the cinematic event , you will hear from Dustin Browder that they splitted the game by 3 to release it in 2010, otherwise they couldn't finish the 80-90 mission game before the 2015. So basicaly the product wasn't finished yet and we were dealing with 5 years of editor's beta test and there were lot of things that changed since then. Basicaly we will receive the most complete toolset just now, with LotV. As well as the complete asset pack, because there were very few Protoss effects and units (especialy humanoid) compared to Zerg and Terran assets.
I think if anyone waited for a good moment to start an epic-scale project then he should wait for 10 november. I assume the further LotV patches won't be so stressfull for your map's DATA. Just IMO ofc.
Also i think the Starcraft team will be heading to provide us with quality tutorials and maybe even example maps in nearest future. The good days for sc2 mapping is yet to come :X
I even think this way: as there were rumors/confirmation that sc2 team will continue support the game, they probably will fill the arcade with their own projects (like Aiur Cheff, L2D, etc.) Also they probably writing some inhouse editor documentation for their new team members (game designers). So probably they will release it to public anytime soon.

Finally
You think editor will have his update to?
how else would you test your maps in editor then?
So aside from the melee stuff mentioned in the post, what's interesting about this update?

Everything I've been datamining over the last few months might be present?
Also, it is coming soon, because Traysent posted about it yesterday.
You really know this is a Editor forum, don't you?
