Okay so how do i do it. Any clarifications for Key, Source Key, EffectSuccess, EffectFailure fields? How is it linked with other things? I don't see any examples in Allied Commanders dependency mod.

posted a message on Whats up with all of this

Ok, thanks. So it's like they picking the most experienced mapmakers and winners of rock the cabinet, it's not available for everyone, i see. At first i thought it's like you make the map, it goes through blizz' approval and then appearing in premium section.

Hey people, i haven't looked into sc2 for a 1.5 years or so. Recently i launched sc2 and saw premium content. Is it long-awaited map marketplace? Or this is only for maps featured by blizzard themselves? How the system works? Whats up with active player base right now? Is it worth starting project with a goal of becoming a billionaire? :D I kinda missed the theme  guide me to some sources where i can find the info.

hey ppl. After i changed GPU the shader of a material applied to Spike Bomb (Alarak's 5th ability) seems to whiteout. Is this the shader problem or Blizzard mess something in Texture Folder in recent patch and everyone else have the same issue? :/

posted a message on The Xel'Naga

Idea behind all that xel naga and shit is they are basicaly first entities in material universe. And as they originaly came from the void (which is non-material universe and a cradle of each ever existent entity) as "spirits" they hadn't some definite shape or form. So when they incarnate in matter they got a look of ugly floating faceless squids.

The globalization will happen only when it will be more profitable than keeping state borders / different currency for each country. Right now the only thing which keeping them is a sweet posibility to buy cheap slaves in different regions of a planet.

The real thing under a threat nowadays is EU and white people basicaly (mean nordic race here). Such countries as Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, GB, etc. should realy try to smell the shit before it lands on their heads.

Overal brexit is a great choice imo. Just look at the reaction of mass media and do the straight opposite. This will never go wrong.

Maps won't be open source isn't it obvious? What's the point of selling content if you'll be able to play those missions in "test documet" mode?

posted a message on Monetizing comes to Starcraft II

Blizzard said earlier that they will work with individual developers. Carbot is kind of addicted, and brought something fresh and unique, so nothing new here.

What Funky is curious about i guess is Map Marketplace. I don't see this happening because of same reasons as years ago:

    1) new patch might break maps and it will be Blizzard's responsibility because author may not be willing to provide a technical support for his map. And people wich bought some shit from marketplace will demand their money back in that case.

    2) interest in sc2 mapmaking dimmed drasticaly over the years (from 2010). Now i see a 10-15 same people on this site and even lower amount is able/willing/have time to provide content. Editor design itself is a problem for bringing new casual mapmaker to the scene. It's a tool for Blizzard professionals which spend time in it to earn money.

    3) Blizzard knows about p. 1) and 2) so they did a little experiment with release of war3 assets to see if fantasy setting could bring more mapmakers to the scene. It's not.

    4) The top-down gameplay mechanics (stun, crit, damage taken, positioning, crowd control, etc) was already fully explored in Dota and basicaly Diablo 3. Next big revolution such as Dota ain't gonna happen. The lack of new ideas is real. We see that in Heroes of the Storm which is epic fail design-wise.

    5) Some veterans from SC and Dota eventualy moved to Hearthstone, because it's simple, fun and doesn't require a lot of time to invest in. (lowering the sc player base)

    Quote from AppleFee: Go

You know you can distract those models when they will publish it with the next update. Or do you need to buy the commander to get those units in your editor.

All models will be available with the next patch.

Yeah, i'm eager to get my hands on those and toy with a new visuals :}. Models which came with Alarak were pretty sweet man, can't wait to get nova effects. The library of special effects has grown drasticaly after LotV release and now with these new commanders it just gets better.

posted a message on Is there any interest in the Starcraft Universe engine going open source?

I don't want to upset or insult anyone but i don't think your fundamental work as a whole can be useful for an individual moder. Most likely people will take some parts in which they are interested most.

Better to have your stuff as a reference than not to have though, but it's up to you to decide is it worth an extra work from your side or not. I doubt it will be a blast, but maybe somehow help to attract more people for your team guys. Or gather ideas for a new content.

I personaly enjoyed your cinematic a lot and i can only imagine the effort you put in it and the actual mod. The gameplay on the other side isn't very enjoyable at least from my perspective because it looks too much like SC copy of WoW. It's just my opinion though which doesn't mean anything. Maybe it will see success in nearest future or you will be future developers of World of Starcraft and earn glory and money :}. Best of luck anyways.

Videocard is full of slow processor units, but there's alot of them.

if i remember right the GPU processors are ultra-fast but "stupid" (less instructions) and CPU is slow but "smart" (x86 is a bigger instruction set) ?

GPU processors are better when you need to do a ton of simple arithmetic operations. I'm not the pro at computer science but i assume the larger instruction set makes it so CPU spend more time to process the incoming data?

    @Demtrod: Go

will thank me when you finish your ability :X. You can look in map from this thread as i suggested before https://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/map-development/88650-bosses-with-0-triggering-fun-or-shit/

I'm using that effect slots of Arm Magazine abil to apply various buffs on ammo units of Warhound. It's pretty easy to inspect what i did there...

man.. You put your effect in "Release" bracket of arm magazine abil which happens when ammo gets out of host's control by running "Release Magazine" effect.... You need to put desired effect in "Create" bracket....
