Yeah, good question. As could be assumed, I am pretty out of the loop as of late. I haven't played a video game in a solid 6 months, let alone mapmaked, or been active on here. Being an adult has finally caught up with me I guess. I will no longer be participating in the monthly test or anywhere else on this site. Hopefully as the weather turns cold, I have more free time and may be able to re-invigorate the initiative.
As it currently stands, I cannot complete the duties I put forth for myself, and do not want to sell short the efforts of fellow mapmakers who wish to submit their projects. If anyone is interested in taking my place; please do. Otherwise, see you all in a few months!
Set 2 years after the final event of Legacy of the Void.
The three race now living peacefully.
But it all change when the Purifiers reprogram the Spear of Adun and attack the protoss capital, killing all the Twilight Council members and declare war on all living intelligent being.
The three race turn to Heirarch Artanis to stop the Purifiers. But when the world need him the most Heirarch Artanis vanish.
The survivors of the war join together under the Alliance Command Council [ACC] and fight back the purifiers one battle field at a time.

Yeah, I can/will put up noir:automata for the month of June. Hopefully moving back to a campaign will bring some activity. Tuesday I will be home to get it all set up. Can you send me a pm with a link the the project page, and direct links to the game. Anything specific you want included in my post.
I'll only be around for a day on tuesday, so I want to get it all set up in 1 day, so I'm not late with it.
I have to agree. A website dedicated to SC2 mapping should be able to handle SC2 map files.
The site has been streamlined to show up better in search engines and average more outside clicks per day. From a "guys with clip-boards" perspective, the site is at an all-time high!
Imagine if car dealerships made money based entirely off of how many people walked through the door, opposed to how many cars were purchased.
We have a handful of people willing to test, but no one who wants to have their projects hosted. I would put my own project up just to feign activity, but I am out of town again this week, so cannot be active in responding.
Anyone out there interested in submitting their project?
That is off the topic though; this wasn't intended as a curse-bashing thread. I was simply interested in where all the numbers come from; such a high ratio of guests to members, with so few actually viewing. Explaining that they have millions of viewers does help to explain it. If only .1% of them see "We have starcraft 2 stuff too, wanna look at it?" they will be linked here; and make up a large portion of those numbers.
On my little site, it wasn't uncommon for half of the users to be bots from search engines. And I really wouldn't be against click-farming either. It brings your sites higher up on google searches; gaining popularity and reputation. It was simply curiosity.
I am pretty surprised by this. That is a pretty solid number compared to the number of "active" members. Then again; we do often see people come out of the woodwork with well made projects, previously never heard of.
As a mod, do you have access to the analytics of this site? On the forum for my wc3 project, I used to enjoy looking at all the various user statistics; to understand what brought players to my site.
In my opinion, post count is down, but user count is up (Since the new site). I have no records to back this up though. I was initially curious if something about the new curse site made it easier to access for players; or if it pushed itself up the google charts; or what. If in-fact usage statistics are way up with the new site, then that would mean we are all a bunch of whiners and curse is doing the right thing, no?
Every time I log in I see "users online 500+". With <50 actually looking at anything.
Never used to see that before the downgrade. Is that the total for all of the curse sites combined or something? Are there that many spam bots waiting on the fringes? Considering worldwide, there are only about 3,000-10,000 arcade games being played at any given time; it is hard to imagine such a large portion of the population is also browsing this site.
Anyone got any good theories? Any mods who can ping locations to see if 90% are from india or china?
I am not sure what to think of that. I take it with a grain of salt until it is released. With how basic the classic editor was; I really do not see it being used much. "But so many great games were made" yeah, in 1998, by 1998 standards.
The above is just my opinion, and I'd rather not get into a debate over something that we can "wait and see" on. Either way; I will be attempting to keep this initiative going until participation is consistently lacking.
RIP April testing thread as well. The current RTC ends in April, correct? Hopefully once it is over, people will have a bit more spare time to assist other people's projects.
I don't intend for this to be the end of the initiative. I just feel it is unfair and demoralizing for mapmakers to put their projects up and get no feedback. Anyone interested in having their project highlighted after RTC can leave their information here.
A video of my project which is based around heroes and talents and such. This is all triggered though, and does not use the talent system and such that was recently added to the editor.
The easiest way to do "talents" and such, is with upgrades. Heroes, abilities, talents, stats, ect, are all managed by triggers, and a little bit of data. Really not a hard system to build; just time consuming to fill in the blanks with game content.
Outta town on storm duty this week (Power line tree removal stuffs). With the lack of participation this past month, which was pretty upsetting (no offense to those who did participate), I am considering skipping the initiative until after the rtc contest has ended.

The new map page is up, hopefully the bot doesn't auto-delete it. I will get it posted on the discord server too.

Picking up an initiative by Mozared and JayborinoPlays, I will be hosting a project every month for the community to focus it's attention and feedback towards (Thread found here: https://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/player-zone/map-review/131020-monthly-community-project-testing-continued/#posts). Anyone interested in having their project hosted should PM me, do not inquire here.

Aside from ...you... No one has even mentioned the monthly. Literally no one is on deck for testing.

Been curious for a while, and am a bit bored ATM.

Hahaha, this is rich. Someone at curse wanted to design an ai that could learn. It is doing it wrong.
