I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER UPDATING MY MAP ON REALMS OTHER THAN SEA. IF YOU ARE PLAYING AN OUTDATED VERSION THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT.

If you discover any Bugs, Faults, Oversights in my map please use the ticket system in the link above. I know siege tanks are OP. but another map project is taking 100% of my time currently. I'll hit it with the nerf bat when i get time.

yea i figured it'd be overpowered.
i did try a fire type aura tower but i wasn't too happy with how it worked and now it kinda overlaps with the upgraded siege tank
and yea. siege tank range was reduced
Lol so.... Yeah, beam is overpowered. I usually get to swarmlings but only get a dozen or so kills.. This time, I got 404 kills and it was at a 2.9 spawn rate, there were no leaks until it got down to about 3.7 spawn rate, only had 2 beam towers, woulda been 3 towers if I didn't waste money on the tanks.
Basically; the tanks are still not worth the money, considering their attack speed. Missile towers still have them beam in dps per mineral. But the beam towers.... I realize they're 650 minerals but one level 2 beam tower is MUCH, MUCH more valuable than 2 missile towers. Gotta tone down the beam towers, but be careful not to make it underpowered, cause for every 1 base point of damage you take off, it's really taking off 3 due to the charge up.
The level 1 beam tower is fine, but jumping from 100 to 1000 is insane. Maybe 700?
Did you nerf the siege tower range? Seems shorter, wasn't it 13 before?
Anyway, thanks for using my idea with the beam tower :) Although if I hadn't come up with it, you or someone else would have eventually anyway. Now we just gotta get our burning tower up and running :D

It's hard to vote on the OP/UP thing, cause siege is underpowered and beam is overpowered. I don't know HOW anyone could have voted underpowered. Endgame is a joke now.
try the new version. there are stronger mid and late game towers
also photon cannons are only for early game. i've never built more than 2 for wave 1. (shows i need to work on their upgrades in some manner)
easy is not so easy- I can never get past the stupid vikings- is there some cheat strat im missing here?

bosses spawn every 300 seconds. so if your kill the waves extremely fast. yes you will end up with bosses in the swarmling level.
getting minerals from a player leaving is due to the teams. since it's "2v2" at the moment. problem is fiddling with the teams in Game Variants can sometimes make it un-publishable. i can fix this however and will for next version.
played on solo easy mode noticed a bug.
Bosses Seem to spawn in the swarmling wave after a while. not sure if this is intended.
Question is there any difference between the difficulty other than unit hp? does 1 give more money than the other?
It does seem when people leave the game you are able to use their left over minerals. I once had 7 or 8 missile turrets in a game. and couldn't repeat the amount recently.
I'd just like to point out that you both seem to be missing the point of the storm tower. It has a 25% slowing effect, which stacks with the slow tower for 50% slow, in other words, it makes them crawl. The storm tower isn't for damage, it's for an additional slow effect. 2x slow effects = missile towers having DOUBLE the amount of time to attack things. Although vip is right in saying they shouldn't be so close, cause the slowing effect is only while they're in the storm, you want it to be nice and spread out, but close enough so that they're almost always walking through a storm.
Also, missile towers should not be on the U's, they should be on a path to get double exposure.
Killed 31 swarmlings before the AI targeting started going random..
I think with better placement i may have been able to get up to 40 kills. I'm still hoping some kind of magical build / placement would allow you to kill faster than they spawn.. I think current I kill about 2 for every 3 that spawns, so it's pretty close.
Took me about 5-6 tries before beating wave 28 and kept playing because i thought 29 might have been beatable.
Some info regarding the towers.
Hydra - The Hydras have 2 different debuffs, 1 30% and the upgraded 60%, it is beneficial to have one of each to get a 90% extra dmg.
Missile turrets - They do so much more damage non of the other splash or multi hit towers can compete.
Maurader - slows are AOE and seem to stack with the storm tower.
Storm - It doesn't seem beneficial to have more than 1 storm tower in proximity to each other because the damage doesn't stack when the storm is on top of each other.
lighting - towers tend to target the same units, the stun effect will have diminishing returns as you stack more towers together.
cannon tower - can be upgraded 3 times, the third time it becomes a multi attack tower
tank and splash tower - pretty straight forward.
my build is: photon photon (both up top, insignificant towers) hydra tower (center nipple) tank (left nipple) slow tower (above the tank) missile tower (center nipple) missile tower (bottom right of center island) hydra 2.0 slow tower (bottom of center island) then fill in holes on the center island with missile towers
on normal mode, assuming I don't get free minerals (see below), i'll lose right around the viking level.
also, don't know if this is SC bug or map bug, seen it on other maps as well... if a player leaves, u share their minerals, I just did an easy game were I had like 10 missile towers, killed like 60 of the lings. a few of them cost me less than 200.
The last levels are not as hard as you think, you just have to stop buying everything else at some point and go right for missile turrets. And don't put the missile turrets on the U shaped corners. It seems like they'll get the most use there but they don't. I have 5-6 turrets up by the time wave 28 comes up. Besides, you wouldn't wanna win every single game would you? That'd be boring. I think that if he adds new waves though, 24-28 should be toned down because they would no longer be "the last few waves", which is the purpose of the difficulty scale going abnormally high. Just a health reduction when the time comes would do the trick.
Mav, it should say the author on the map, try looking him up on the bnet forums, not sure if you can do that or not. You could also post on the eu forums and say ATTN Standard Tower Defense publisher.
By the way, my games have all been error free since the last patch too. This is THE best turret defense game out there, made evident by the fact that each new version jumps to the top of popularity within an hour. Most people groan and struggle over the popularity and don't delete old maps because of it.
So remember it's all worth it. The worst is over.
Hey, as for a tower, maybe a void ray type tower, where the beam gets stronger the longer it's on an enemy. Be good to put on a U shaped spot. Maybe like a 11 or 12 range, upgrades. Start it off as a midgame tower and make it strong enough to compete with the missile turret for endgame.
Or like a thor, that does nothing but fires those sweet 250 MM canon things, that's the coolest fire animation in sc2 imo. And I still think the hellion would be a good idea, as it would require a little placement strategy to get the best effect out of it.

I always lose in the last few levels, think the last few need to be slightly tuned down
honestly, there are probably better builds, but on normal...with the way i build, I should realistically win everytime, poor noobs drop like flys at 20+, if they didn't already lose on the muta level that is.
i've given up trying to bump my map on EU. somehow need to get in contact with whoever published my damn map and get him to delete it.
Farthest I've come yet, 7 spawnlings! And I got the Immrtalboss during the lings as well! :)
@ Kathumandu - I'm having no problems on my Mac, so whatever it is, it shouldn't be a problem with the OS X client... it could be something in hardware, though.
have no idea about macs. that's definitely a weird error however lol
Heya, just wanna give a shoutout to ya for a great map. The only problem ive had with it is while playing on a mac client, once the game finishes, It crashes my SC2 beta. Idk if this is anything you can fix but just wanted you to know about it! Keep up the excellent work!
um. i dont know? when i goto work i download the map directly off battle.net through the map editor and save it to my HDD and then edit it (after saving you need to close the editor and re-open it or any changes will not persist. some weird bug) and have no issues.
swarmlings are simply a survival wave. you cannot win on this map. beating wave 28 is technically winning. swarmlings are just there to see how many you can kill and then to try and beat your record by designing a better layout, i'll put a note of that in the map somewhere in a future version.
tesla tower? you mean the lightning tower? it's mainly an early game tower. my use for it has always been for an early source of damage so i can try and save for a missile tower. i'll probably change it in a future version.
dont join "Standard Tower Defense" on EU servers, its massively outdated. Instead join "A Standard Tower Defense" (a little further down in the list, version 1.10d atm). Theres no param spam and u got descriptions of units and such. killed 15 spawnlings... if i could get money at this point, i could kill more i think, but since its an endless wave, i get very little kills because of my setup...
@MAVERK: erm sooo, any comment on the tesla tower? i tried it 2 games ago and lost, i needed those 100 mins later and the tower wasnt that much of a help... i was wrong about the slow towers though, helps tremendously now (sucked in old version). stacked hydras and marauder right before a missile tower beats everything. (except spawnlings of course ;))
and why is it that i cant use the editor to play the updated game? even in editor testmode (yes, correct file... i also tried v.1.10a, v1.10 and v1.09, just to make shure. it ALWAYS loads the "old" STD)
