There is a bug or a mistake from me in the data editor is more accurate. So the dragoons have no CD when waped in from the warp gate =/. That means you can warp in like three dragoons and one other unit if you want. So you get many dragoons very fast..
Most of these data issues and such can only be solved by clean reinstalls. Before you do that, make sure everything is in the correct folder as stated by Hultmantable.
Another question: Are you unable to open the map altogether in that it just doesn't load, or you get the "unable to open map" error? If it's the former then I'm afraid you'll have to run the SC2 Repair from the Battle.net launcher or just reinstall.
I played much of Mission 1 after I checked to make sure I could open it. Very fun and polished map - the only thing that stood out to me was that it seemed like my Adept hero did not have any attack sound that went along with the animation of shooting the Glaive Cannon, or the projectile hitting a target.
You could just use the actual Adept since that isn't in the player's tech tree.
I played mission 3 today and I have some feedback. I didn't have any problems overall but I think in later missions the player should start with a little more tech like a Forge and Cybernetics Core. I had a little bit of a tough time getting that first shuttle down.
Also, do you plan to allow DT's to merge into a Dark Archon eventually? Some of the air attacks, especially the initial Mutalisk attack in mission 2, are very difficult to repel so I thought the player would have the option of creating a DA to defend since we start out with two of them.
Yeah I could. I dind´t know how unfinished Talis really was =(. you have different starting buildings/units on each mission to fit the playstayle of the map.
well, in mission 2 and three there will be no changes to the DT. In most map you have access to high templar and acrchons. I find the DA´s mind control a bit OP in the early stages of the campaign.
Was busy with work and finally got time to get stuck into this bad boy. Was really looking forward to playing it! Ok here is me being annoying:
The dark templar portrait seems to miss color and is completely silver.
I played this mission once before when the first version came out. I failed mission because i didnt move out faster. Now im playing on version 2 and this happend at min 12 : https://postimg.org/image/wl64job8b/ the forces just stand there.
Hmm wierd.. I will have to check that out, never encountered that problem.
I do not know about the DT portrait is is the DT - aiur. But I can check it out too.
In mission three, yeah I know it is kind of a problem, but I do not know how to work around it.. Perhaps a cliff witout ramp, but then you can only use range units..
Yeah, I can agree that it is OP..but is is so much fun =D
What do you think about using the train mechanic in the co-op mission "Oblivion Express"? . There blizzard made the train attack-able but u cant put buildings in front of the train and blocking its path. It just goes right through units, buildings. Maybe use that for the ships.
Yeah shadow fury is really fun. I promise myself not to use it and rely on other unit...but man the temptation.... to strong :(
Hey. I am downloading latest update to Starcraft II at the moment. Hopefully this fixes "Unable to open map" bugs!
I dont start SC2 with Battle.net launcher very often so I may have missed some updates.
Patch 3.3.2 (14.6.2016)
Btw, I have account with WoL and HotS but no LotW or Nova stuff so lets see does it affect to results I get with opening maps.
Great! Updating fixed the problem for me. So keep battle.net client + game updated!
Some actual feedback for Launcher + Mission1:
- I didnt like beeping sounds during cinematic
+ Terrain was good looking
- Fighting with Roaches was a bit slow (Raised game speed from Normal to Faster)
- Ultralisk fight was too hard for me. I didnt have quicksave so I did not restart especially because restart would take long because of opening cinematic at beginning of map. In general I very rarely save in games, especially on RTS games.
