They have just blocked my account, because I tried to connect from another country.
Now they ask me for my account name to restore my account, but I don't remember it, since I created my account quite a long time ago. Then they suggest me to contact the support team. But if you want to send some ticket, first you need to login into bnet. So what the hell am I supposed to do to restore my account?
According to some game store in Sweden, HotS will be released on 31st March.
Beta will run 3-6 months according to some interview (with Dustin Browder at NASL 2012 finals I think [not sure]). Then add 2 weeks of nothing after the beta and then it is released.
If the multiplayer turns out bad/hard to balance, it might be released in a half year. Maybe 3 months are enough, if the game is in a good shape.
So I guess it will be before 31st March. ;) I would guess sometime from mid December to mid-late March.
D3 was 6 months in beta, SC2:WoL was 6 months in beta. But it could be less for addons. ;)
Also, I noticed a HotS beta in my bnet account today. I didn't receive any mail. So everyone might take a look. :)
if someseon can give my the exe file i can try to hunt on a beta key
or does somseon know whare you candownload the game
Quite honestly, I think that if you do not know where to get the client or you're asking for an exe I doubt you can hunt for a beta key :P
Also, Ahli, I received my email yesterday but my account was activated to beta like 1 day before the email arrived. So I guess they just send emails late? I did receive an email afterwards, though, I even played some games and datamined like hell before getting that email. So yeah, everyone should have a quick look at their b.net accounts.
We will be bringing down the beta server today at 4:30 PM PDT in order to perform a few balance changes. We do not expect a lengthy downtime and will report to this thread when the service is live after the maintenance. Below are the changes being implemented:
Warhound Weapon attack delay has increased from 1.3 to 1.7.
Swarm host locust attack damage has decreased from 16 to 14.
Viper Consume can no longer be used on creep tumors.
Oracle Preordain duration has decreased from 2 min to 1 min.
Viper Blinding Cloud now hits everything, but the radius of effect has reduced from 2.5 to 1.5.
Widow mines will no longer damage each other with their splash damage.
The bug affecting the Overlord speed upgrade has been fixed. Upgraded Overlords will now travel at the expected speed of 1.88.
They need to do more in general in the whole mech problem in my opinion.
I'm still questioning why they are so reluctant to make changes to the Siege Tank. The Siege Tank is THE ground - ground staple unit for mech. Mech doesn't need the Warhound as a ground - ground unit, it has to be a Goliath like unit with just some allround capabilities but little cost efficiency ground - ground.
@rikky333: Go I don't think begging on mapster gives you any chance of getting that key. There may be thousands of players begging for one right now.
Have they said anything about the arcade? How can I enjoy a beta where the only thing I can do is ladder? I'm not that competitive. What I really want is to use new assets, the new changesi ndata module and so on. I can't even start moving my maps to HoTS because I can't publish them!
EDIT: The Warhound was supposed to replace the Thor's anti-air role, and the Thor moved up to be a unique siege-breaker unit. I don't know why Blizzard changed that. Now that Warhounds can't attack air they lack a strong role in mech and it didn't fix the issues Blizzard pointed for the thor (unit size, anti-air capability...).
They seem lost and confused with these new units, the only one I'd say is strongly defined is the Viper. I could add the Swarm Host, but the fact it creates free cannon fodder that is way best than zerglings has got to be broken. But then again, I'm not a competitive player so what I say may be regarded as bullshit.
The Oracle change from Cloaking to Revelation shows they don't have a defined role for it. So far it's harass + extra sight range for Tempests. And now they overlap with Observers. And what ot say about Motherships? Blizzard had plans to "fix" the Mothership (and I'm not talking about the M Core), but it stays the same, and now it can be sniped by enemy Tempests too.
