If you're in the beta and about to give feedback, make sure they know how badly we want an active lobby list. Maybe they'll actually listen to you then.
So what really made me angry, that if you dont host the game in private, than you wont have lobby, game will start instantly as soon you have the amount of players, that the map can have at max. If you are hosting game in private, people wont be joining with find match.
So after this there will be about 10 maps (instead the current 30), which will have 99% of total popularity. And there will be no popular maps with player slots more than 2. (Also forget voting, race/color choosing, team arrangement ... in the lobby as popular maps will be used without lobby).
So for me it seems like they just keep destroying every good thing we had from bnet 1.0.
(Also its full of bugs and other bad ideas, but I can accept that those probably will be fixed or changed)
edit:
Also I made 3 screen shot and a map to "Debate Arcade System" (thats how I named it) and published it in beta, use the reviews to debate.
Oh there is a relevent peice of info lol, I just uploaded the map yesterday... so if it doesnt get a play for one day it doesnt show up.... Its stupid... thats all it is a shit change.
I would agree that its a good thing if the map had no plays for a month, but this is one freaking day...

You know that way none of your map will be on bnet anymore.
Also I dont see where was those maps cluttered up in the system? Also name me 1 other system which deletes non-popular stuff, which users upload on them? Its self suicidal....
Its also stupid as map makers will just keep reuploading it or afking in it.
This is just another sign that they are downgrading stuff. Now I will have to call it bnet 0.1 (instead bnet 0.2).

Open bnet. Start at page 3. Note how 99% of the maps past here are shit. Can we agree on that? Good.
Now imagine that the 99% of shit that inhabits post-page 3 are cleaned away. What's left? Actual fun, playable maps. Who benefits? UMS players and every non-shit author.
As for reuploading or afking in their own lobby, sure, but they'll get bored eventually if their work never takes off.
I think What TaintedWisp is saying, is that how can we know if the maps are shit, if there are not recognised and are able to be played. ALthough, I know that there are a shit load of crappy maps sitting around (none of them my old beta maps of course :P ) So with the Alpha I understand why BLizzard wants this Iguess.
Sorry, but that makes no sense at all. The post-page 3 stuff is never played anyways, so it is not interfering with the actually good and fun maps. I personally like to have 203212 pages of map, because some of them might be cheap, but they are kinda fun, anyways. This change will make the battle.net even more mainstream centered and no member on this forum will benefit from it. Noone.

Check Youtube or an app store. Check page x on their ranking and you will find full of shits. But why dont they delete it? Those youtube videos really take up place... So why not deleting? Because its fucking discouraging for authors, no one would make videos for youtube, if their videos would be taken down. There are many channels (authors) whose videos first was unpopular and if their videos would be taken down, I bet they wouldnt made new ones.
But who knows maybe you (and some other) want monopoly over the map market, than it makes sense why you dont want beginners map makers to catch on... So lets make the current system even less encouraging for map makers and one day than sc2mapster's only visitors will be bots.
Also back in W3, I usually downloaded unpopular maps from epicwar.com, maps which only few liked (mostly because most of them was deep rts games or complex games). And even if I didnt have friends, I just hosted on bnet with the right name and I usually ended up with 2-3 player who had the same mind set (taste) like me. Under the current sc2 system I can hardly get friends to play maps which I like, because back in W3 when I hosted the map I liked and I saw the guys who joined to have the same taste like me, I friended them. So I usually had friends to play the maps I liked, thats gone in SC2. And with deleting unpopular maps it will totally go away.
This will also stop to experiments with new type of map ideas...

One could assume you could give proper feedback. And to my knowledge proper feedback aint whining.
It sure cannot hurt to remind them what is important to have!

Where did you find that public hosting menu? I don't see it...my area looks like your first screenshot (fun or not as the 3rd option).

They're mockups. Basically his suggestion for how he'd alter it if it were up to him.

I hope you guy that can play the alpha try to give blizz feedback about what went wrong with currect build. Ask them to fix it ASAP
WHAT THE FUCKING HELL!!!!
Now I am pissed about the Arcade.
If a map doesnt get enough plays it disappears from the list.... My uploaded map no longer appears... So Its been made worse....
Good change. Keeps the shit maps from cluttering up the system. Would be nice if the name got made available too if it wasn't played for over a month.
I gotta admit I lol'd hard.

Can somebody upload Startools?

Is this modifying in any way the current installation of SC2 or is it a separate installation (and is it a long installation)? Idk if I should try it.
This is a seperate installation, and it has Blizzard's streaming thing (like WoW and D3), the game is around 10GB.
I don't understand this Blizzards Streaming compatability and all that stuff. "Please Explain" - Pauline HAnsen.
