Oh and on another note. What kind of new units do you think the races will get?
I believe / hope that protoss will get something that will give them some more agility. Protoss mostly stick to big deathballs. If the other 2 races do enough counter attacks, split attacks, etc. protoss is stuck to defending. I feel like they are a tad easy to contain.
For terrans I have no clue what they might get. Maybe some new Tier 3 unit which they are more likely to get since Thors and BC are hardly ever used.
For zerg its hard to tell as well. I really think they don't have any gap in units. Maybe something to accompany the Ultra with, since ultra's can be easily countered by either race.

I think you just described the point and purpose of the oracle.
@Crazio: Go Blizzard said they probably won't add new units to multiplayer. They might rework the current ones and even remove some. For campaign I think we will see SC1/BW units because they received a lot of feedback for HotS when they failed to deliver that. We may also see scrapped units like the Replicant or Purifier/Vindicator, because we know they can be cheap and reuse old ideas if its easier than making new concpets. Unless those simply don't fit a mission gimmick.
No, it's more likely they release new units as to get public attention and forum debate. Having new units per expo is almost like a cardinal rule in Blizzard.
Though I also can speculate they'll focus on the same traits as before, these new units and the rework on the old ones. Terran will be more unbearingly mobile (Medivac boosters and Widow Mines), Zerg will be more Zerg (Either more spellcasters or 'tank' units like the Aberrations in WoL) and Protoss will be more slow-moving or more Sentry-dependent, unless Blizzard decides to give more mobility to them (The Oracle was sort of a relief to 'Toss bronze/silver players for a Reaper, though Tier 2).
@DeltaCadimus: Go If you're talking about multiplayer then no, what I posted was their official statement on possible changes for LotV. They said there isn't room for new units and the best thing they can do is to rework or even remove units and try to achieve a more interesting metagame.
Shame there will be no new MP units, was kinda the norm for Blizz expansions, but I can see how it'd be a nightmare to balance that it currently is if even more units were in.
On another note, I'm really looking forward to Mercenary-type or Evolution Strain-type units for 'Toss, hopefully with some new exotic features (like Strains) rather than just +stats (like Mercenaries).
That's not what I'm being told. Trust me, there will be new units. That statement was made by Chris Sigaty, I believe, and it really was actually his wish/hope, rather than actual fact. They've said before that they'll add new units, and I can tell you they will (Can't tell you how I know).
Replacing units is likely, as is also likely that they'll add mutations/new unit modes/variants, like the Mothership Core, Raptorling, Hellbat, and such. It's also possible that we'll see some units change (Thor from WoL to HotS) to make room for new roles for newer units, and it's also possible we might get units that aren't necessarily combat units, but fulfill new and interesting roles/functions on the battlefield. Take the example of a unit that builds bridges, and is built at the Command Center, or new structures/defenses, that perhaps aren't directly offensive (IE Slows down enemy units nearby). Who knows, we might get to choose which units we want to tech up to (Tech Choices ala HotS evolutions or like SC:Expanded) or new factions or subfactions for each race (Umojans with new Marines, Shadowguard, Primal Zerg with new strains, Tal'darim, etc.). Another plausibility is removing a specific unit to replace it with a new unit that integrates its function and does something new, too. (IE Void Ray gets removed, new unit integrates Void Ray ability, but does new stuff/has new mechanics)
But trust me when I say that we WILL get new units. Sure, Blizzard's SCII team will get more original with how they'll integrate the new units, but we'll get them. Think of all the possibilities I didn't mention so far - Casted/timed units, spells that transform units (friendly or enemy) into new ones, a new race (neutral/mercenary/capturable/entirely new race) with 1 new unit only per faction, and altered units for each faction to help fill in the new unit per race, mercenaries, hero units, units you can only get when you capture enemy tech or neutral structures, shops/items. The SCII team might as well integrate new mechanics to justify new units and add more interesting features to the game, to diversify gameplay (Just like they did with Xel'Naga watch towers and all the different rock types). Heck, perhaps the Colossus will be replaced with a different, specialized Colossus, that looks better, and there will be a new ranged or close-range unit to replace whatever function it fulfills less better now. I'm guessing a new mechanic (Essence/Terrazine Gas) that justifies getting new units related to it, but isn't necessary to play the way we have so far, but will alter the current metagame by bringing new gameplay possibilities, strategies and points of interest on a map.
I think you just described the point and purpose of the oracle.
The oracle is just to... takes to long to get it, is to expansive to get it and has an use only once function. As opposed to reapers/halions or zerglings. The latter two are simply units you can get by teching up. As a toss to get the oracle you actually have to go towards air which can lose its purpose all together in a later stage. Where as for terran, you need a factory to tech up, you need a stargate because all terrans want vikings/medivacs. So imo the oracle is not a good alternative to counter the snailness of the toss.
I just hope LotV will add some braincracking story lines or something really unexpected.
I'm going to be mean and quite possibly unfair, but the only way I expect the LoV storyline to be "braincracking" is by making me bang my head against the wall. I was already skeptical to people who said "Blizzard learned from WoL, they will be better in HotS", and although they did make an effort to tie the story with previous games and give some structure to the story, that was also where Raynor's gun appeared from thin air because it didn't look good enough to be carried by Kerrigan during a cinematic. I may be wrong, but I do not expect the developpers to make a U-turn and put story before CGIs any more that they did in WoL and HotS.
I feel like... if protoss gets a new unit, it should be a gateway unit. something cheap, something usefull like a marine to dump minirals in. Zealots just wont cut it.
@Crazio: Go Maybe Zealots will get a laser staff upgrade, like in a concept art they created for WoL, and Blizzard will say its awesome, cool, and brand new idea.
Geez I don't get why people rip on old concept ideas. Just because it isn't "new" there's nothing wrong with you using old ideas. Cause that's all they were, just ideas. If you're going to complain about something like that at least let it be an over used concept our an all out trash idea they didn't use for a reason.
@JacktheArcher: Go You are right, but go back in time and check all the awesome ideas they said would be in HotS campaign, like the destruction of worlds, and in the end got removed or oversimplified. When you think they're breaking their heads to get awesome ideas, they are most of the time reusing the simplest concepts to add, and that was my point.
I guess I get what your trying to say. I agree with you too, their newer ideas may not be the greatest. It just seems of late people like to complain about reusing old ideas which has been getting on my nerves a bit. Either way though I hope this changes for LoTv.

Let's think about it: What will be new protoss bio units? T1 mech ? T2 mech ? T3 ground mech or psionic ? Air t1-2-3?

I hope they will implement something innovative. Either an old idea implemented in the right way, or just something new.
@DEFILERRULEZ
If they are implementing new units, protoss won't get a new t3 air unit. They already got 2. I still feel like they get a new, high mobility unit
Pretty good Legacy of the Void fan made trailer. Enjoy!
Wow! Also in Russian but with some diferent in-game cinematics. Very good!!!
This guy has a collection of ingame cinematics that I actually imagined LoTV would include: https://www.youtube.com/user/Computer1194
This is either the best production quality i have seen for a sc2 campaign, or leaked early footage. :P
