For some maps, users are unable to create lobbies. I have no idea what could be causing this, or even if it's something that could be caused by us. At this point my team (NOTD 2) has tried just about everything we can think of to remedy the situation, but the issue persists.
Pitfall: When trying to publish I get a: Warning: Document aliases could not be accessed: CLIENTSIDECACHE_LOAD_UNABLE_TO_OPEN_FILE .
Quote:
Pitfall: Unable to save resource file... Operation not permitted (1) error occurs during publish preparation (hence, can't publish the map). Occurs for file /Users/<username>/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/StarCraftIITemp/Publish/<map name>.SC2Map/Screenshot01.jpg
Both are the result of incorrectly set permissions on your computer. They are not SC2 problems or caused by the patch.
Generally there are two causes for such an error. The first being the SC2E process lacks sufficient permission to access the files. The second being another process is accessing the files at the same time SC2E wants to.
To fix the permission cause run SC2E as an administrator. In the long term you should fix your permission settings rather but it is a good short term solution.
To fix the concurrent access cause try disabling any program that can be accessing the file at the same time. Such programs usually include backup solutions like dropbox (who will lock the files while synchronizing) and anti virus solutions like Kaspersky which will lock the file while scanning it (which it does for all new files).
i think he means that the process of creating/joining a lobby gets stuck. it works after a few tries and a total sc2 restart. i even have this with my own map, but once it works it keeps working until the next map patch.
Yesterday, everything was peachy, today, something serious happened.
It seems, Blizzard removed the ability to select/target unit that is not yours? Anyone else having this problem? Most of my maps broke because I rely on selecting units (any unit) for trigger actions. Now that is not possible. :(
I feel like Blizzard has a personal war against me and won't stop until I completely quit mapping. But I'm strong, I'm already finding ways to defeat the nefarious Blizzard! I don't know if its just me and all of your maps are working fine? Or there's a new switch you need to turn on to have the unit be selectable by anyone?
Sounds like you need to check your options menu. There's an option for being able to select enemy/neutral stuff. To make it so people have to have this enabled/disabled there's an action called override player option.
Thanks for the reply! That fixed it. Apparently, that also explains the 'bugs' people were reporting that they can't select units. A bad situation turned fortuitous.
My editor preference must gotten reset or something, while online, the enemy selection is still enabled.

id recommend you do this in your map initialisation trigger ... :
i must admit that Blizzard did a good job in past few weeks, most of my data props got fixed. Just recently figured out that global animation loop issues i was complaining about caused by new actor flag "Automate Global Loops", so just need turn it off. Also there are plenty of new substituting actor events that needs to be used instead of old ones (like "MoverStopped" gives more seamless transition for the missile attachments i used in my map).
Now the remaining eyesore is absense of weapon icon in hero panel UI, basicaly what Tya has already mentioned before. Also the return movers of the missile behave differently from my experience. Occasionaly return speed is extremly slow (from what i saw it seems to depend on distance). Though i'm not sure if it is bug or maybe there is option somewhere that i missed.
At least that is for data module, i don't know what bugs still present in trigger/terrain/UI, etc, since i'm rarely working somewhere else than data.
Is it me or does the editor crash more than before (i save before every test/experiment so i dont care much, just asking)
.. it says so in the patch notes lol.. fixed so u "cant change unchangeables" (core s#it) or something similar..
i'm not complaining in this case.. it prevents MY dumb errors down the line.. but i'd really would of liked to have a "zog zog" sound or something
fixed : ahhahahahahahaa
is it my computer or did the refresh of tables get even worse than before (when changing from one unit/abil/model/etc to another or changing tabs etc) ???
New pitfall: After patch 3.0.3 refund does not work when unit sells items in end of range of sell ability. So, if shop has ability with range 1, units selling items, but refund does not work. It works with range less than 1 but not at end of range.
Solution: Use triggers to fix it, i have not found data editor solution, seems it's a terrible bug.

So, a bit of an update: Somehow, I managed to get a lobby up and can now make lobbies as I please. However, other users can't - they still run into the issue of the lobby instantly canceling as soon as they press the button.
Not sure if this is because of 3.0 but this is my first time encountering this
New pitfall: Importing new .dds or .tga files raises the error "(Core: a required object could not be found)"
Solution: None so far
YES, i also have this, i found that if you import .tga file with short name for example 0.tga or 1.tga works, omg, sometimes .dds works, but why and when i don't know...
Pitfall: Unable to update multilocale maps properly, for those freshly published after 3.0 patch. This does not block the update, but only the enUS locale will be published. This leaves "published name for <your locale> does not exist, and it will be excluded from publishing." in message log.
Workaround: Overwrite enUS locale texts with texts from your desired locale.
I get this message for my Multi Locale maps ... but it DOES publish them ... even with that message.

Silly question; you've unchecked "Hide Arcade Lobby" in "Map Properties" -> "Options" right?

Yeah settings just got reset in a patch a few hours ago.

I like reading through this thread and slowly masturbate, feeling secure as Unity doesn't have all these aweful problems.

Anyone else having problems with "Unit - Turn UNIT Cursor state Off"? It does nothing as far as i can see.

We do not have "Hide Arcade Lobby" enabled, no.
