@composure19d: Go Sadly it does not seem like that there is one.
Would be awesome if they make a separate shield bar (just like life, just for shields) and add the possibility to make the shielded health bar to integrate the lost shield amount into the bar's percentage. Then you would have an awesome hero bar for an Archon hero.
There is a strange field with "addToTotal" or something like that, but I wasn't able to make much sense out of it. Maybe that one can do the latter and it is just bugged right now. At least it caused the shieldbar to extend across the whole screen with low shield values.
Can you post the code for that? Maybe I can get it working.
Also, how do I find out all of the functions for the UI? I need like a list of functions to really do anything. Or are you changing it in the trigger editor?

Hey, maybe you can help me, I'd like to edit the special life/energy bars the heroes get in HotS.
Basically, I'd like to edit Jim Raynor's bar.
I'd like the life gauge to change color when the life decrease (like the original bars). What I'd exactly want is the color to go from green to red, but linearly.
I'd also want the "progression" gauge to be light blue, as it was originally, and not grey.
Explain in more detail: I have my custom health and energy bars made through layouts, but I want also display the number of passengers in transport, as it done in a standard bars for bunkers or medivacs . Can it be done for custom bars?
You'll have to manually manage the bar by using triggers, exactly as you do with the other custom bars.
Use the event load/unload and a counter on the unit, or maybe there is even a trigger to count the amount of carried units.
<!-- name of player --><Frametype="UnitStatusPlayerName"name="PlayerName"><Anchorside="Top"relative="$parent"pos="Min"offset="-40"/><Anchorside="Left"relative="$parent/AttachPointFrame"pos="Min"offset="-50"/><Heightval="60"/><Widthval="300"/><VisibleToAllyval="true"/><VisibleToOwnerval="true"/><Frametype="Label"name="Label"><Anchorside="Top"relative="$parent"pos="Min"offset="0"/><Anchorside="Left"relative="$parent"pos="Min"offset="0"/><Heightval="60"/><Styleval="PlayerUnitName"/></Frame></Frame>
PlayerUnitName is a custom text style based on HeaderTemplate:
Horizontal justify: left
vertical justify: middle

Link to my testmap is in my post earlier in this thread: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/general/general-chat/46214-ui-a-sample-map-for-customized-hearth-bar/?post=20
I'm changing it in the UI editor's code. I used the ingame UI editor to find out a few value names.
But JademusSrag made a list after string dumps from the sc2.exe and a few tests (afaIk): http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/gui/50450-layout-frame-element-support-list/?post=1

Is this possible ?

How would I go about triggering hide/show for this custom status bar?
I can't find a function for hiding a custom status bar.
you can do this via an actor message 'SetStatusBarOn'
i got question, can i add PlayerName to this bar? not unit name but player name.
@uroboros1987: Go
Create a text tag with triggers and place it onto the unit.
i know that way but can it be done in ui?
@uroboros1987: Go
I don't rlly see a point into making it in ui, but i have no idea about ui so can't help u.
@uroboros1987: Go
You could have a label in the status bar that you hook up and set to player name.
Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)
@uroboros1987: Go
Yes, put this in the UIXML:
PlayerUnitName is a custom text style based on HeaderTemplate: Horizontal justify: left vertical justify: middle
