Wouw, I never thought I would have to give up on it, those textures were so clue, gave up before having a change to complete, there is the picture of... whatever I tried to make :D
Howdy All, using random.org number generator i got
25 - Bel'Shir Bricks Large
5 - Agria Foliage
181 - Xil Grass
22 - Avernus Plates
43 - Castanar Mesh
147 - Tyrador Bricks
128 - Shakuras Dark Sand
61 - Haven Grass Light
Will be interesting to see what ive got once its in the editor.. now to think of a theme.. hmm
Here's mine, i got the following textures: 7- Agria grass yellow, 78- Mar sara dirt cracked,100- New folsom dirt cracked,101- New folsom grating,178- Xil dirt, 179- Xil dirt cracked ,180- Zhakul'das dirt cracked,181- Zhakul'das tiles.
Hmm, I've just been floating around on SC2Mapster for like the past week... I think I'll just randomly join this WTE :P
6: Agria Grass Green
8: Agria Rock
16: Aiur Tiles
38: Braxis Alpha Rock
64: Haven Rock Rough
101: New Folsom Grating
142: Typhon Rock
150: Tyrador Grass
So I went to just prep the map, everything went well except Tyrador Grass does not want to show up AT ALL. I have replaced all 8 textures, and Tyrador Grass, like I said... paints nothing on my terrain. I even redid the map from scratch and still, same thing... any ideas?
Also, I'd just like to say that the contrasts of my selection of textures is... insane. :|

My failproof (so far) solution is to create a new Terrain Texture Set from scratch, add the 8 textures you want, then use Map -> Textures to swap the entire tileset to your new one.
As for my own terrain for this week... I've had all kinds of things happening and very little time to work on it. At this rate I highly doubt I'll have it finished before the next WTE starts, so I'll probably just post what I have done sometime tomorrow.
I was considering to do something like that, just a bit worried that too many of the textures may come from the same tileset when all numbers are so low, making the challenge a bit boring :p
That worked quite well, thanks! I even customized Fog and Lighting and a few other things. Thx!!
EDIT: Here's what I have to work with... the Contrast isn't as pronounced as I originally thought ( because of the method posted by Mozared, I had all those tiles layed out ontop of Agria Dirt(even though I didn't have Agria Dirt) in my Texture Set) but here I can see it's not so bad... except 4 Rocks!? And it's ugly as hell. :|
Another update: things happening in my life right now may prevent me from being online for a while.
Maybe a short while, maybe a long while - but I won't be able to upload my current progress this week. It may be a few weeks or more before I show up again, so until then: Happy terraining!
I took the challenge and built a small Space mall/train station with only agria concrete as texture, i don't know can i upload the pics here or is it just for contributions?
I won't be able to end this WTE in time, because i'm going on a trip and will be back on thursday. But I will post the ending results of my work when I finish, hopefully soon enough to make it in this thread. If I'll fail to make it in time, I'll save it for later and maybe make showcase.
I wanted to create a bit rusted mining facility on hot, dry planet.
BTW do you know how to alter the height change value, that is used by ctrl+unify button? If changed to small number, we could make stairs out of terrain height tool, just like in the second attachment below. The problem is, steps are too high for infantry-like units.
To be able to make some kind of stairs with the terrain tool would be by setting the units size to alot bigger... Why? Caus the terrain wireframe is made of small triagles (you can activate the view in the view tab) and to make those triangles make some kind of stairs, it would be kinda hard. By changing the units size, the terrain look smaller so you can use more triangles to make your stairs. But, more you will make the camera looks at more terrain, more it will lag. So, making stairs with the terrain, as far as I know, is not a great idea... except if you really want to pass few hours with triangles and headache. =D
So, how to make stairs then? I think there are some kind of doodate that are stairs. I also know that there is a Terrain object that are stairs, but I don't think it would correctly work with your actual terrain... um, you can also use of imagination =D Use rocks and modify their X,Y,Z setting, use broken things, whatever.
Good luck :) If someone have more idea about making stairs, just share it =)

What the Hell!?
I'll get started tomorrow after work.

I'm sad nobody's gone with 4-8-15-16-23-42-6-48 yet :(

Try making a mountainous aura with it? With 4 rocky areas you should be able to get in some sick detail?
@Mozared: Go
I was planning on doing a mountain top, with a road / path leading up to a landing pad(grating), being overrun by some zerg or something.
EDIT: Or not. Gah!
EDIT 2 : The Height tool is a giant piece of F'n Sh't! It's terrible!
I'm done for now. GRR.

Here is what I got now, it's not complete though:

Working on projects:
@Scbroodsc2: Go
Ground debris or prop is the one you want for stairs.
I'm online again, briefly at least, so I figure now's as good a time as any to finally get my screenshots up.
The map hasn't changed any since 2 weeks ago when it was current, and given my limited computer access lately, it will probably never be completed.
