Howdy folks! I had a bit of a hard time implementing this idea by Ktilkath, but I think it worked out, and it should be fun. It's a bit of an extraordinary WTE, but lets see if this catches people's interest!
Weekly Terraining Exercise #32

Now that you have your numbers written down, this week's WTE is a "texture lottery"! The numbers you just picked will translate to different textures present in the editor, and it will be your job to make any terrain with these textures. To set up the textures for your map, do the following:
Start the Galaxy Editor.
Open up a new map in the Agria tileset.
Modules > Data > set "Data Type:" to "Terrain Texture Sets" > click "Agria (Jungle).
In the table on the right, find "Textures - Blend", and double click the list of values behind it.
Find your eight textures by referring to your eight numbers in the almighty list of textures below.

Replace the normal textures with your eight textures.
Press "Ok". Save your map, restart your editor.
For example; my original example was "1, 12, 13, 58, 122, 125, 140, 193". In this case that would mean I'd have to work with the following textures:

4 types of 'cracked' terrain. Good luck with that =P. Exaken has mostly rock, some grass, and an Avernus space plate texture - that should work fairly well together to create some sort of terran base, I reckon...

I really have no clue what I was doing while making this terrain, was just improvising and making it up as I went along.. But all 8 tiles are used and this is what I got, a little "meh" but yeah.
No this actually looks pretty cool. Turn down the HDR on the crystals if you bumped it up, and maybe add a ravine with some blizzard cliff height variation in the forested area, and I think that will come togather really nice.
4 Agria Dirt, 29 Bel'Shir Dirt Light, 56 Char sponge, 41 Castanar Grateing, 89 Meinhoff white sand, 92 Monlyth dirt, 125 Shakuras Rock Cracked , 190 Zul'Das Grass... i have alot of dirt n rocks should be fun thinking what to do with this.

Yup, to draw more attention.
I don't dislike that Zarakk. The bright textures are horribly out of place, but you've made a pretty decent mossy/foresty ground with the rest, and your mountain texture works really well too.
Curious to see what people will come up with now that so many people have laid out their textures...

Yup me too... So here are some pictures caus the result is not exacly the best I could... I should put more times in it. Actually, I would prefer use my time in triggers to make a map and better videos.
The 2 first pictures represent my trying to find an idea... xD
Yeah :p I didn't want to make it look like each tile was a totally different zone, I kinda wanted them all to be together regardless of crapfactor, so I was just hoping that a white beach near a green/brownish forest would be passable ;)
in hindsight, I could probably have made a transition between white/blue>brown>green, but that would have taken too much space

I picked #4, #8, #13, #21, #23, #24, #100, and #115 (all numbers of importance to me) and err... got a horrible texture combination. This was a great exercise though, to see what can be made with a crappy hand of cards, so to speak. Ended up with rocks... dirt... more rocks... and some space tiles, lol.
I threw some old Aiur ruins around, and then tried to make it seem as if the Terrans had moved in and built a base of their own on top of the existing landscape. This does not make the locals a bunch of happy campers.

This sounds pretty fun. I just wrote down the numbers: 7, 22, 69, 88, 108, 115, 145 and 183. Going to look which textures I got now.
I used a random number generator to get my numbers.

Used Google image with the search "Nombre" (number in french) and took a picture with many numbers. Pretty fun idea though this WTE.
