Your previous dropship(s) don't seem to have hit test volumes set up, since I cannot box select them inside Starcraft 2. I guess I can just replace the unit that uses one of those with this one, eh? That's good timing, since I had just implemented it.
@JacktheArcher: Go Thanks, I'm still not 100% satisfied with the glow on his head and crest, the rest is pretty much finished. I'm also working on the blink effect for him.
@GhostNova91: Go I'm glad you like it Mr. SuperKitBasher. Now that the blender addon supports an easy way to add meshes from other models you may see me using that for mine too.
@IskatuMesk: Go Which version? I thought I had uploaded a version that fixed that. If not I will upload a new version.
I've been working on effects too. A blink effect for the hybrid hydralisk, and placement models for units I use in SC Expanded. These will be released when I make a bunch of them.
Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.
After a long break I got some free time for modelling, so I decided to revive this thread. A few old projects may get finished and released.
A mercenary Dropship made in collaboration with GhostNova is already waiting for mod approval in the Assets section. The other I want to show here is my hybrid Hydralisk, a very old project that got some improvements in the last few days.
These models look incredible filcher, the Hydralisk texture is just fantastic. Impressive indeed!!
@unclesatan: Go Thank you. Patience pays sometimes.
@GhostNova91: Go Here's a little something I created today.
@DEFILERRULEZ: Go I wouldn't release my hybrid hydralisk without some hybrid powers. ;-)
I had this vague idea when I saw Valerian's unit model, and today I decided to go on and create it as an exercise for the new kitbashing possibilities of the Blender plugin. The hard part was to animate the cape with no new bones or changes to the original animation.
I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard, out of nowhere, made Valerian actually in a Royal Marine suit in LotV, on some separate NPC/separate mission. But still this looks like a very good concept.
Of course, all there's left is the portrait. Valerian inside a Marine suit, that is.
@GhostNova91: Go If you mean trouble as stated in that Incredibles movie then yes, it will get stuck when trying to micro vs zerglings and it will kill him. But if you mean animating it could be trouble, then I'd say not, it was a lot easier then I expected really. There are 5 bones from the original model controlling it and it looks good enough to keep it there. I may add 2 bones in order to fix a few animations though.
@DeltaCadimus: Go That's a possibility. But I don't think he will play such a direct role in LotV. I think I'll follow your suggestion and make that portrait.
Id appreciate if you release the one without extra bones (personal preference) if you do release it and go to change it. I really like the idea, and it looks better than id have thought

Looks good.

I'm pretty sure it's the bottom left of this shot. http://www.sc2mapster.com/media/images/43/49/dropship_variations.jpg
I don't think I downloaded an outdated version or anything... but eh.
@IskatuMesk: Go I don't know if that file got updated after you downloaded it, but I have a fixed model, here it is.
Thank you, sir! :3

Nice placement models, maybe we could finally get a dragoon placement and warp in

Are you doing this in max? I'd be interested in learning how to do the blink effects, since I'll probably need to make a few dozen of them...
@nolanstar: Go I'll make those, don't worry.
@IskatuMesk: Go No, I always used Blender. PrintIn made some improvements to the addon and these became very easy to make.

Great to hear you can do kitbashing now. With what you've come up with being limited I'm excited to see what you do now. :D
Blinking Hybrid Hydralisk... I am impressed sir !

A royal Marine. I love it! Ha ha that's awesome although that cape could be trouble.

Not blingy enough. Put some on the helmet.
@SoulFilcher: Go
Supermarine to the rescue! Looking good, the helmet looks a bit 'modest' compared to the rest of his armor with golden bits though, imo.

@Metalking1417: Go @StealthToast: Go Maybe, but I don't know how I could improve the helmet.
@SoulFilcher: Go
You could create a Lion print on his visor similar to that of the countless variants you see in the campaign.
