When you apply it to an actor do you put the model to the editor actor? Have you tested it in game. I remember there being like 3 or 4 different models for an actor. One is editor another is in game. It's odd how they do it though.
i am using the lich king model and i wanted to use several others too.
but now i have a little issue that i got answered by "gigantic bounding
sphere" that has to be fixed in 3dsmax.
Well, if it's a problem with the model from the viewer, then it is how it is really. You could try re-export/importing, but it most likely won't help, so yeah, 3dsmax is probably your solution.
hey i tryed to import some of thes models to try them out but when i add the model to the Unit the model is ALL BLUE and doesnt have texture , any reason for this?? did i do something wrong or forget something??
^First of all make sure you moved both the models and textures to the ROOT folder (right click and select move to root in the import manager).
If you've done that save the map, close the editor completely (every window) and reload, the model should be textured now.

The Great Hall is a WMO not an M2, the process for getting such a model out of WoW and into Starcraft II is not known by me but another member of our team and from what he tells me it's not an easy process (in comparison to this m2 conversion) and at this time I'm afraid I can't give you the files to that one.
But if you want to have a go yourself just search for great hall with .wmo extension (I think it's that) - Export it as a .OBJ and try fiddling around in 3DS Max, I'm not a modeller so I can't help you much more than that, my apologies.

Here's the 'Ogremound' - With a little bit of imagination it makes a good gold mine. Enjoy :)
I'm trying to import some WoW models, but for some reason the animations are not transferring correctly. More specifically, the animation I want "animates" for about a second, then the rest of the animation is just stillness. Any recommendations, sources that I can be pointed to, or perhaps someone I could ask to fix this for me?
The name of the model is: skywall_wind_drafteffect_02.m3
well i want to learn how to import then export things. I tried it about 1 months ago, i have the 3ds max, the 3ds object and the pluggins, but when i export the model, then import to the sc2 map, it doesn''t show anything. can you pls tell the username of that person who know it, ask him to help me or make a tutorial?
thank you
^ That's his website, scroll down to near the bottom you'll see a WMO/EXPORT to Max software download (and instructions). He wrote that, he won't be writing any more, if you understand it great. If not I'm afraid I can't help you either
It's a bit above me.
I think I might have a way to fix model problems like the BC bosses have:
The general idea is to make an extra model with the character dying, similiar to the "Marine Death" and such. You would then exclude the death animation from the main model, and it would be the only animation for the death model.
The reason the Dreadlords, Pit Lords, and Voidwalkers have floating pieces seems to be because of their death animations.
I have a question. Is there a way to import spells via wowmodelviewer? The problem is that glare effects doesn't appear in sc2 editor. Surfaced stuff appears, but colorful shining flashes and sparks doesn't.
SC2 doesn't have an importer that supports particle effects or something like that. So generally spells won't work. Blizzard needs to release some support for this.

Were actively ripping some models for our conversion project, Warcraft: Legacy of the Damned (see the maps section).
Anyway, thought I'd spend the time to share some of what we've got with you guys (I didn't see these two buildings on the front page).
Orc looking Blacksmith and Troll Watch Tower (looks like a square version of the wc3 watchtower).
Enjoy!
I'll be contributing some more stuff soon enough :)
I apologise for the double post but I get a 404 error (cute cat) when I try to edit my previous post, just got images of the models in question;
i'm intrested about the great hall in the right side of the second picture.
Terribly sorry I haven't responded in a while, been really busy lately. Anywho;

Couldn't find one, but you could just make them invulnerable, make them unclickable and pause their death animation at the end, no?
Sweet! Much appreciated :) Nice work there
