Halo: Recollection is the first campaign in the trilogy we are planning to release. The campaign is based around an ODST and has simple game play that is reminiscent of WOW game mechanics. The player is a ODST that has just been recruited to be part of a special ops team named "Oblivion". This elite force of troopers is deployed on missions of extreme importance. This campaign has been greatly inspired by Halo 3: ODST, and will have a a story line similar to both Halo: 2 and Halo Wars... There will be a total of 8 to 12 missions in this campaign and all have there own unique environment that greatly differ from one another. Just like Halo 3: ODST, the story revolves around a weak, powerless, human that can do very little as massive events transpire around the universe. Armed with nothing but an Assault Rifle and a few rounds of Ammo, you are thrown into a massive world that will change the way humanity has looked upon the stars, forever...

Rick Reesan: Serial-Number:283C | Rank:Commander | Age:37
Born on a colony out on the far rim, Rick Reesan joined the UNSC (United Nations Space Command) at the age of 18. After 4 years of training, Rick showed outstanding field skills both in tactical awareness and physical health. Rick Reeson continued to progress on through the ranks until he reached the rank of Seargent. There, he was given the role of ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) due to his greatly needed skills within the UNSC. Two years later, Rick Reeson excelled at ODST training and was quickly deployed on insurrectionist controlled worlds to aid in the war against the rebellion. Known for his great knowledge of field tactics, Rick Reesan has been deployed multiple times onto the battlefield to assume the role of squad leader.
Born on Earth, he applied for ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) at he age of 19 and was denied. Jenson then quickly entered the UNSC to join the ranks of the military. After 6 years of training, he was deployed onto Arcadia and rescued a total of 32 hostages from the terrorist-like actions of the rebellion. He was awarded a medal of honor and was immediately promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Jenson Bates still holds the rank of lieutenant and is still progressing among the ranks.
Born upon the planet Harvest, Amelia Centurion joined the UNSC at the age of 17. Years of training within the UNSC made fellow trainees give her the nickname "Cobra", due to her great speed and fast reflexes. Various field exercises eventually led her to gain permission to initiate training to become an ODST. She was deployed onto insurrectionist controlled worlds to aid in the war against the rebellion.
Born upon the planet Earth, Jaeger Menoter joined the UNSC at the age of 18. Various field exercises show Jaeger possess an abnormal amount of strength. After a short period of training, Jaegar was deployed onto Arcadia as a marine to enforce the UNSC's war against the rebellion. Jaeger showed outstanding field performance and was immediately accepted into the ODST program. Various missions eventually led him to gain the rank of Gunnery Sergeant within the UNSC.
Born on Classified, he applied for ONI at the age of Classified and was accepted. He was designated as a Classified and was assigned to station Classified to catalog Classified movement within the Classified sector. Classified requested permission to re-assigned into the ranks of the UNSC. Classified was officially re-assigned into UNSC with the rank of private due to personnel reasons. Classified was than offered the choice of training as an ODST after Classified years of training within the UNSC. Classified has been on a total of 0 missions and is still waiting reassignment upon the Classified orbital space station in the Classified system.

Hey guys, I'm developing a campaign and i decided to post this... This is going to be where i post the latest progress and developments on the campaign as it is slowly built from the ground up...
Yes, I am aware of the possibility of the campaign being taken down from the campaign due to copyright reasons. The campaign will be posted on battle.net nevertheless, and if it is taken down, so be it... The campaign will most likely be downloaded from mapster and played like some other campaigns.
I would actually suggest that you ignore battle.net altogether. Taking into account its filesize constraints, you might be sacrificing a lot of content to allow your maps to be compatible.
Good luck either way. Halo always gives me that same dose of nostalgia that I usually get from Brood War.
Or you can try to make certain changes, so it wont be a copy right. For example: Skulls in ODST and Halo. To make the game harder. You can change that into Artifacts (that are around the 12 missions to find in the corners). So next time your play will be different if you put a Artifact active.
Are you getting the excact units from those games? Maybe can change that into zerg units.
Change the medal system: into brons * three tiers etc.
Just, modify it enough to the basis of Blizzard races (but make it so that people will see the resemblance of it enough), so you wont have to worry about the Copy right because it would be a disapointment to all the hours you invest and in one day to another you will get the message its deleted because of Copy right.
That would be a good idea... However, is there any way that i could avoid copy right by giving some form of acknowledgment/credit to Bungie/343 Industries? I mean, I extracted models from halo 2, 3, and 4 for use within the campaign and I'm planning on giving full credit to the creators. Would there still be a copyright issue if i give full credit to all things they have made?
(The images below are some views of an elite that i extracted/edited from halo 4...)
I think it will be enough if you change it this way. Make sure you still give enough credits and it will be okey.
Just like GNA says: Change the names.
That was with the Starcraft Universe the case, what first was called: World of Starcraft.
Anyways... This isn't really a forum about copyright issues regarding the campaign, nor the problems battle.net will have with it. This forum has been created to show off the latest progress of the Halo: Recollection campaign... (No rudeness intended...)
Below are views of some Elites that I finished just now. Covenant show off there status by having different colored armor: Blue meaning Private, Red meaning Sergeant, and White meaning Lieutenant, and Gold being General or higher...
Elite Models:
Mod Development:
Nothing much has been done within the mod. We as a team are continuing to import custom sounds and textures into the mod for later data editing when we get up to that point. Custom Ui is 20% done...
Developer's Note:
It was such a pain to strip the armor off the original halo 4 elites and put them on the lower polygon, Halo 2 elites.... (Mostly because the armor's mesh was fused to the original elites, and i had to delete each and every little polygon surface that connected them together, one by one...) On the side, our progress is starting at a very slow rate and we need more people working on Data/Triggering so that we rush through all the boring stuff...
Just finished the all the covenant vehicles... Below are images of a Ghost, Spirit, and Banshee. After the first stage is complete (Creating the needed assets), the second stage (Animating and converting the models and textures into Starcraft formats) will commence...
Vehicle Models:
Mod Development:
No changes were made to the mod in any significant way...
Developer's Note:
The models were easy to edit and extract from the game (Halo 1). However, the only problem I had in this edit was getting the elite onto the ghost without him looking awkward. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to get the elite properly onto the ghost...
i want to incorporate halo into my mod will you be release these as assets i will give credit but it will be mostly personal for fun maybe we could find a way to get models from halo reach
Wow really nice models. Are you gonna make wraith and turret/sentry too?
Reply to Raptor Kirad: Wraith and sentry models are finished and are shown below... However, I have made changes to the sentry model so that it looks it's best in starcraft 2. Instead of having a cockpit with a Grunt/Elite siting in it, I might scrap the sentry model in general. I just dont see it serving any purpouse in the campaign other than being an annoying enemy/defense...

Reply to collinmarcum5: All models will be available for download. Anyone can use my models in anyway they like as long as they give credit....
Vehicle Models:
Mod Develpment:
Ui was abit tweaked since last time. There is now a fully functional inventory that the player can use to store grenades, weapons, etc.
Developer's Note:
I guess that's the end of all covenant vehicles. All i have left to do is work on some grunt models and start doing the UNSC models. This is a short update so it's kind of boring. I will try to post something more worthwhile next time....
Great job, I am verry curious what kind of maps you gonna make Terrain and how the story will end up. Are you gonna use cutscenes?
Reply to AppleFee: Cutscenes may be used, but there is great probability that everything will be created using the in game models. The models are already high poly, thus, SM (And or SMX) dont really serve a purpose. Nothing to crazy is going to happen within cutscenes. Plus, it's very hard to rig eyes, mouths, fingers, etc. Perhaps in the next Halo game we will use SMX grade models...
is it possible to make really high quality models like the ones from halo wars or halo 5
Reply to collinmarcum5: It's possible to extract them, and convert the animations from the Halo Wars, but I don't believe Starcraft can handle such High polygon models. As for halo 5, it's currently impossible (And illegal) to extract models from the game. It's possible, but I don't recommend it. But what I do recomend is extracting the models and downgrading them to have them give out less strain on the game engine...
i just dont want them to be too low polly like halo one and two i mean those models dont even really have any movement even models from reach would be more acceptable or halo 2 the remade version im not talking to crazy but atleast on the level of what the sc2 models look like now

Just FYI if you're copying another franchise this closely (Halo) you can't put the maps on the Arcade

It may just call their attention. If you can modify the assets, change textures, and your title, you'll be safer.
Changing the shape of those models a bit might also be helpful for copyright stuff. Names, etc.
Whatever you do, wholeheartedly, moment by heartfelt moment, becomes a tool for the expression of your very soul.
Well, as you can see below, there is a massive difference in the assets used between 343's design and my edited design...
I dont think there will be any problem concerning assets...
