Was thinking it'd be cool to have a July 4th map. Any international folks who don't know, July 4th is when USA celebrates its independence day.
The map would probably be mostly cinematic with a lot of explosions, haha. And a good song would need to be playing as well, either a national song, or just something to rock out to. Hey, could even go with over engineered cod piece (or maybe it was called Terran up the night), lol.
Like chinese new year, quanza, st. patricks day, st. georges day, may day, holi, diwali, hanami, tanabata, christmas, the burning of the reichstag or ramadan (that lasts a whole week). Every nation has a local "bank holiday"/festival so what makes one more interesting than the others.

You could also use the fireworks doodad (I think it's called that too). There is even crowd cheering noise in the sound files.
Lets celebrate every puny local festival, between them all there are only about 5 days a year when we do not have a public holiday somewhere.

The 4th of July isn't really puny... It's an entire COUNTRY not just a city or town.

Don't mind him; he's British. They have a thing against Americans and July 4th.

Although I have British citizenship and Scottish ancestory, I have a rather diverse genealogy with ancestors on both sides of both world wars.

I believe he was referring to the revolutionary war. Where we gained independence from Britain. Not the world wars.
I agree there are a lot of "local" holidays. There isn't any reason not to make maps for them, apparently there just isn't the initiative.

Well, in that case you can just make one map, and republish it under a different name for each holiday :D
And why exactly would someone replay a map with the same scripted cinematic in it for every holiday renamed?
I think we should have christmas maps. SC1 had those.
