So Prince William and Kate Middleton are now married. Hopefully this means that the media will stop posting every little detail about it and thinking we actually care :/. In the words of the great Russell Howard: ''The prince is getting married? Who cares? We get a day off? Woo! Break out the champagne!''.
It also seems that america seems more exited than england :/.

Nope, we don't care either. Please get these extreme welfare recipients out of the news (so I can read more on Donald Trump).
It's so true, america does seem more excited. Whenever I see anything news related, even on the internet, if it's american you can bet there will be quite a few articles on the marriage. But england has other things going on.
Americans weren't the ones camping out for 2 weeks so they could get a good view. Trust me, unless its some little girl with dreams of marrying Prince Harry, we really could care less. But now People magazine will have to go back to Charlie Sheen I guess.

Every time I turned on the TV there would be some commercial about it going on or some news going on about. I think there was even a show about setting up the wedding. Anyways, I would hear a bunch of girls talk about that too so ya americans were going crazy. I guess we just got bored of charlie sheen. Maybe he won't be so wired up anymore, we left him alone for some time at least in the media.
That's what I meant with the last bit. Normally, I don't really care either way. I see a lot of people priding themselves on "being informed" by "watching the news", but aside from a few basic facts, 'watching the news' barely serves a function anymore. How many of you have recently changed their lives in some way because of something they saw on the news? The only 'function' it serves is that it allows people to create opinions on stuff, but the problem is that it does this badly - if you form your opinion solely based on what you've seen on the news, you're horribly uninformed.
Because of all this, I barely watch any news myself and tend to not care (20 deaths in Marrakech? Whatever, it'll be forgotten in a couple of days), but even then I think it is somewhat sad that you have to dig through piles of "OOOOH A PRINCE IS GETTING MARRIED :D" before you can find news on human deaths.

Bi-winning post!

I can bet you that some americans wanted to though :P

Yeah, most all girlies love weddings and babies, American or British. Not to sound sexist or anything. Didn't there use to be a girl on this forum?

This guy is so strange lol.
I was excited to watch it! :S They make a good couple. :D
It's rather ridiculous, yeah. Did you guys know there was a terrorist attack in Marrakech on a touristy café? There were between 10 and 20 wounded/dead. Yesterday I was at the GF's, and she had actually dined there one or two years ago. We were trying to find news information on it but all we could find on EVERY kind of news (Dutch news, Dutch youth news, BBC, CNN) was annoying stuff on this ridiculous wedding. People talking about how they were hoping to see a big smack on the lips in public and stuff like that. And when we actually found a 15 second film on it on the internet, we had to watch a 20 second add first.
I normally don't care for the news at all, but... priorities much?

No one wants to hear of terrorist attacks on such a happy day! :) haha

So if 9/11 happened today, would nobody care because of the wedding?

Well it was nice to see every street lined up with flags out and once again feel you know British, even if just for a day.
Kate looked beautiful. Walked in a commoner, out a princess and future Queen. Best of luck to them both :)
I'd send them a card saying:
21st century and countries still have kings, queens and princes... really...
Indeed!
I like the idea.

The English monarchy is a figurehead. They have no power, they are just there to look pretty and be in the news for getting married.
Wow..... that cooking show
