I rarely sit through more than a few seconds of gameplay videos or trailers if they're recorder on anything lower than ultra in HD. Also, it doesn't matter how good it looks if your framerate is choppy.
If your computer can't handle rendering a decent video, find someone to do it for you.
If you can't be bothered to sit through a "non-perfect" trailer video I make, then I can't be bothered to listen to any feedback you may have should you ever try my maps ^_^
Seriously though, people need to be just a little less picky...

Agreed on this one. Once u go HD, u cant go back man. Once u have a car, you don;t like catching bus no more...
Lol, when did i ever say i retracted my first statement?
And I discount it because you're just as biased as you claim I am.
Finally, there's nothing to open my mind to. I have no rigs that can do 1080p recording on ultra smoothly (or even 1080p recording period), and i have no money or desire to upgrade so i can. If i lose a relative few that snub any non-HD videos, so be it. It's not like I'm the one missing anything.
I'm not trying to make rules for everyone else. I tried watching videos that were posted, and when it turned out they were of so low quality I couldn't tell what was going on, I came here and made this post.
I don't understand why people are arguing with me.
vexal i think you are on the high horse and need to hop off of it. :S
im fine watching underperforming clips of footage cos i'm not a very visual person
Watching a video and making a map can have different qualities. For me, I can even watch 240p, it's not a problem. But when creating a map, I try to do the best thing possible. So, why watching in 360 makes industry bad? :-D
Also, you must understand, that OP looks like a rule. Making a post of your opignion in a form of "if you cant, then do..." or "I don't like it, go do..." (and those aren't suggestions).
Also, recording a video at your friend is a hard work, cuz then you'll need to transfer them to your computer in order to edit it. Sending 7 gb of raw video isn't the best idea :-D

but but but 240p is fun!

RCIX, that's the dumbest logic I've ever heard.
If something is genuinely ugly, then you shouldn't just be stubborn and ask people to accept it. Visuals are important to a lot of people.
You should change your mindset if you ever want to have a successful map.

@Vexal: Go The vast majority of people don't consider anything below 1080p and Ultra settings "genuinely ugly"...
@RCIX: Go
Why proof do you have of that? And why did you just change your argument from "well your opinion doesn't matter then" to "it's not actually ugly"?
This thread appears to be the only information on the subject of video quality. Yet you apparently choose to discount it.
Like I said before, if you want to make anything successful, open your mind.

A "few" can be huge when a map starts out.
You should climb off of your high horse before someone steals its hay or shoots it.
i wish people whose map reaches page 1 or 2 would stop trying to make rules for everyone else.

You have low standards. People will low standards set the bar lower overall. They make the industry worse.
Lol, that coming from a guy that made a td which looks like it was put together in a week...
@Vexal:
this is hardly an industry...

I meant in general. People who are okay with worse graphics are the cause of consoles. If I were president, consoles would be illegal.
Consoles ruin everything. They dumb down gameplay, graphics, and are the cause of DLC. Their infection is spreading to the PC.
All because of people like him with lower standards.

A rule? The title was " don't hold my interest".
My.

yeah... but your car might have broken down and you have no choice but to take the bus

I agree with the choppy frame rate, but
really? not even if it were high.... i guess its our loss for not having people like you with 'high standards' viewing our videos
