I'm glad to see interest in the WTE is still here, and I'm glad we had a couple of newer folks join in last week. To keep things simple and hopefully keep participations up, I've gone with a relatively open theme again for this week; "The Rising Tide". What I'm looking for this week is any kind of 'sea'-like landscape. Whether you create an underwater base, a patch of coral reef or an impressive beachline is up to you, as long as it has something to do with our great blue mass of water.
So this is my entry.. Someone's secret fishing spot! It's.. not great, but I'm not that great at this either :P My graphics are kinda low, even this makes me lag quite a bit. But yeah, thoughts?
(Btw, how do I add a skybox? Theres that little black spot at the top, not a big deal, but I can't figure it out to save my life...)
Like some of your doodad uses (landing strip? brilliant!), dislike your tileset choice. It feels so desolate alone and a tad boring in... is it Zhakul'das? I reckon it could look a lot better in a tropical setting.
Wow... I actually really like that! I'd love to play a game on that terrain. Nice one! Were you by any chance inspired by the underwater bases from Anno 2070 for it?
Weekly Terraining Exercise #71
Generic line of greetings!

Curious to see what you make of this!

OMG! MONSTER ROBOT LASOR FIRING SHARK!

Challenge accepted. Make me one of those and you'll get a cookie.

Hmm... I wonder if we can still export that model from WoW...

You say you're not very good, but I think that's very very nice. As for the sky, the doodad Viking Sky can be placed down to provide a nice backdrop.

Nice! A very creative use of char plants! Never thought of that

My first entry ever into this sort of thing. It's a backwater island outpost.

BLARGH!

Do more with textures, though the use of doodads is ingenious. Love the checkpoint placement.
@Sheo
Absolutely. Epic. Freaking love that thing :O! Especially love the way you've linked the domes together. Top notch work Sheo!

I thought screenshoting from Bioshock wasn't allowed :D
Ok, I said about the robot sharks... and I've given my attempt at making one :D Enjoy!
@madlibrarian: Go
Oh come on! We all know that is a robotic whale shark. Seriously though that is pretty cool looking.
@SheogorathSC: Go
Really nice creativity and knowledge of doodad use. How do you make those air bubbles in the second picture?

I like that! Would work well for a RPG-style map. Reminds me a bit of the starting beach in Age of Conan. As for the skybox, check the FAQ.

Those domes i used actually contain water so all the bubbles come from them.
@Mozared: Go
No.

Aw come on. Now I need to make one. BRB with a laser shark of doom.
We should rename this "71 - Laser Shark Of Doooooooooom". Now I need to make one too...
@ScrinKing: Go
I second that motion.
Mine's a bit fat, but here's how it's coming along. Now I pretty much need to add the laser.
Damnit my fog tool is 100% broken so I couldn't use any fog :'(
Here's the fat shark with a laser, though.
