I need Vulture spider mines to be able to attacked cloaked or burrowed units. should be an easy fix but I dont know where to find the flags for this. anybody have ideas?
In starcraft 1, units below cliffs could not see nor attack any units above their cliff level, however they could attack units above their cliff level only when the unit with the higher altitude was attacking the lower altitude unit.
In starcraft II you can easily restore this mechanic by selecting the Hydralisk unit in the unit section of the data editor, then find Hydralisk Needle Spines under weapons on the lower left side of your window. right click Hydralisk Needle Spines and select View Linked Object, it should take you to the weapons tab of the data editor.
Once there on the lower left side of your window again should be a Hydralisk Needle Spines (Damage). select it and on the right side of the window, find the "Effect - Visibility" field. change the field from "snapshot" to "visible"
and that's it! hydralisks will reveal themselves when attacking lower level units and will be vulnerable to a ranged attacker that is on a lower level.
my zealot units have double models so they have this trail and look like ghosts, i have no idea what i did to cause this but how can i just reset the zealot data?
The only thing I want to do is assign Zealot_What to my hero unit Nurohk. but im digging around everywhere... actors, sounds, models... how the hell do you do it?
you should start a semi big project and as you go along the way and cant figure stuff out turn to the forums to get help, after you get help a dozen times and almost finish your map you should get a rough idea of how the editor ticks.
im making a port of an old starcraft 1 micro game and a vital game mechanic was being able to shoot up a cliff when being attacked from it. i need the highground attack system from starcraft 1.
i was thinking about having a "unit takes damage" trigger which causes temporary sight of the attacking unit.
Im stepping into annoying "unit duping" territory. When I dupe a unit everything gets screwed up, ill fix the models from "ghost copy" to just "ghost" it seems the "copy" part in a name screws everything up. so all is going well but the voices arnt working either. I wish i could figure out how a unit is assigned a sound set but i cant find anything, the voices are just there in folders.
good god... my micro map was suppose to take much shorter to make but doing the most simple tasks in the editor such as duping a unit is complicated as hell.
