    ugh... makes no sense...

    how are the events listed even events? set speed, set opacity, etc... that doesn't look like an event, it looks more like an action, and there are absolutely no tool tips or anything.

    Is learning how to use the actor editor a crap shoot? How am I suppose to figure this random non-sense out...

    The Events inside the actor data type make absolutely no sense to me and this has completely caused me to delay my big project. I need a super begginer level of using the events, maybe a tutorial that gives a unit a fire aura.

    Doesn't work. I thought I was doing something wrong, so I looked up this tutorial and it turns out I was doing everything right. This failed on 2 different models, they were both different campfire models.

    posted a message on WoW WMO models to M3?

    @Zarakk: Go

    I absolutely need WMO's for my map, does anyone know a guide to get a WMO into a 3d modeling software? such as milkshape?

    EDIT: found this tool, Taylor Mouse. It is suppose to allow you to open a wmo file in max, but it probably will be difficult to export and manually convert a wmo to an M3 1 by 1.

    I'm not really interested in animations or anything, just the simple wmo model with textures itself.

    SoTIS isnt really about APM or Strategy, its all about memorizing skill and item combinations to kill the enemy hero....

    I don't want to sit and read a 10 page guide on how to react to these 1000 different situations, and what items and abilities you should have if you encounter them.

    No fuck that, im not gunna play a memorization game... I like to gain skill through play experience rather than reading a shit load online.

    if you don't read the guides online, your going to suck. It's the most unfriendly map to noobs, that's why it licks cock. you're either a pro or a noob.

    How did OP manage to extract those human buildings and get them converted to M3?

    WoW model viewer is only useful for crashing when exporting WMO's as OBJ's or LightWave models.

    posted a message on WoW WMO models to M3?

    Does anyone have a clue on how to do this? WoW Model Viewer is only good for crashing when exporting WMO files, and I saw that in the WoW model request thread only a handful of human buildings were extracted so I know it can be done.

    Success in a career is all about knowing the right people. I don't think you should be looking online but rather get to know more people who might know someone working in your field.

    posted a message on [Model]Need help with animation how to's

    I'm sure there's a series of guides for this but im not sure where to look.

    I have WoW character models imported into the editor and everything so far works like a charm. (Default run, stand animations work automatically, didnt have to touch anything)

    Now I need to learn how to apply my model's animations to the units specific behaviors such as casting, sprint, etc... but I don't know where to start.

    Anyone know a good tutorial on assigning animations?

    I have Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of the data editor so far, any tutorial should work for me.

    @Slegg: Go

    This is a very late reply, but I hope this helps someone in the future.

    This is my idea of getting this to work

    Before you export a model from WoW model viewer go to export options for M3 models in WoW Model Viewer, you can select individual animations that are exported with your model, you also have the ability to rename the animation. my method of using these other animations is just to rename them into something that matches a Starcraft 2 models animation name. for example, you could rename SpellCastOmni into Dance1 and just run the dance animation every time your unit is casting.

    posted a message on Plz give me import strategy

    The import editor makes absolutely no goddamn sense. The model I imported was moved to localized data, but I can't access it via the data editor when I try to assign a model data type to my imported model. Well its in the freaking localized data folder, and last time I tried it can't see anything in the root directory so how the hell does this mess of an import manager exactly work?

    It would be much appreciated if someone could explain what they usually do to get the data editor to find imported files.
