posted a message on Korhal - Slum Prototype

I wanted this to take place shortly after the events of LOTV's attack on Korhal, where Artansis pushes back Amon's forces and gains the Xelnaga Artifact...so, thats why they are all dead, I plan on keeping a good portion of the layout but scaling it a bit differently, though I do question, How do I get "roads" on the sewer tileset, do I need to manually set them?

Is this where I ask, why are you wasting your time in SC Mapsters and not kicking Blizzard employees out of there offices to redesign WoW inside of SC2's engine as a new RTS title?

Psstt... screw it, Im asking....WHY ARNT YOU KICKING BLIZZARDS DOOR IN TO DESIGN THIS! xD

posted a message on Korhal - Slum Prototype

So I was looking at the sewer texture pack a bit more and tried to design a small area to portray Korhal's various Slum locations during the events of LOTV. The slums design was slightly inspired by Starwars Coruscant's Invisec sector, which were located deep under the skylanes and massive skyscrapers, and Gotham City, in particular the Batman Begin's portrayal, where some of the crap neighborhoods were located under the highways and large overpasses, and of course, again, between massive skyscrapers.

I was thinking of designing a "Trooper" campaign mission based around it, where some Troopers go through this linear with a few branches, rescuing civilians and other forces from the events of LOTV, eventually managing to make it to an airfield and getting rescued from Raynor and Artansis's forces....but that of course is a long looonnnng way off.

In the mean time, I wanted some feedback on the Terrain and over all feel of the design.

Be Gentle too guys, Ive been out of the terrain design for a while.....

posted a message on Aiur Map

So I was working on a map, I want to create a few missions, mainly taking place moments after the death of the Overmind in the first Starcraft, from the Perspective of the Terran Forces under the command of Raynor. I feel Raynor's involvement and character was kinda glossed over a lot in the Brood War Campaigns especially considering the connection to a a lot of events through out the war.

Anyway, I will post a few screenshots of the terrain work, just want some feedback on it so far.

posted a message on Archon Mode Version of Campaign?

I was wondering if someone could turn the single player campaigns into 2 player co-op via the Archon Mode feature. That way, the maps dont really need to be redesgined with added base space or resources etc, the gameplay just allows the army to be controlled by two players.

posted a message on Dunes of Shakuras

So I started a new map, as I am....for the most part......done with the terrain of the Temple of Antioch for now, (See thread link in Sig) This time, I teleported into the Brood War and did the very first mission where you step of onto planet Shakuras and get blinded by all the blue everywhere.

This map I decided to do a slightly post brood war Shakuras, because if I did a Post Legacy of the Void, it would look <SPOILER>. Where the player would normally start, I placed a statue of a Templar Zealot, along with a doodad to act as its base. Feel free to remove it and it will look as close as I wanted to get to Brood War.

Also added plant life, and other various doodads to give it some life, as the original map didnt even have a single tree or bush on it. It was very dead looking, It was always one thing I didnt like about the tileset back then.

Anyway, PROJECT LINK Just so you guys know, its obviously a WIP at this point, I just finished the basic terrain and doodad texturing of the map. Then I enlarged the border and map size, and thats pretty much where I stopped. Prob get more done on it tonight or tomorrow

As always, Please leave feedback! My ego demands! xD

So I added the bridges, For some reason I was thinking way to complex to make the briidges, so I just added Terrain cliffs via the temple option and I like it, Again, it is keeping to the source material.

Yea, the current SC gameplay might not be exactly great for this map as Protoss, that said, I wanted to use this map eventually to create a Terran Mini Mission, where Raynor sends a force to assist the protoss secure Aiur from the remaining Zerg who are abandoned by the swarm in Old Antioch, in honor of his friend Fenix. (THE REAL FENIX DAMN IT NOT THAT STUPID ROBOT....*coughs and adjusts my collar*) right, anyway as I was saying :3 It would prob end up just being a one off mission and would be kinda fun.

Just need to learn data editor to create a few unique units for the mission to make it interesting to play, and then learn the new trigger system.

So to satisfy some boredom, and to waste time, I remade the Temple of Antioch from SC1 using the new LOTV tilesets.

Check it out and give me some feedback guys.

    PROJECT LINK

Its supposed to look like post LOTV, still abandoned, but I didn't wanna throw Zerg infestation all over to make it easier for people who want to use this is a campaign setting to layout how they want the story to progress and if they don't want infestation, it wont need to be removed.

posted a message on Starcraft : Legacy (Back!!!)

alright, just thought I'd let everyone know, I got mission 2 finished visually as well now. I also have a "Hyperion" styled map started (Graphicly) that when programed, will allow us to use similar features that the Hyperion brought to us, like the customizable tech tree, extra research options, and of course mission replay on different settings.

I am also in the middle of writing a concept of each level, tech, options, and features that will be included, so whoever wants to perform the programming can know what to go on and do.

Also of course any input and suggestions are welcome. Just nothing too out there, as I wish to keep this as close to the full storyline as possible, without straying too far. I will be including storyline from novels, as well as new information that we learned from Starcraft 2 to write this, and set up the plans.

Any questions throw me a message.

posted a message on Starcraft : Legacy (Back!!!)

    Hello Everyone,

Just recently got back into the map making part of Starcraft, had to start the SC1 Remake Project over totally, due to the beta maps not loading in the Full Game, so I wasn't really feeling like redoing everything from scratch again before. But now, I got extra free time, and all my ideas are returning, so am looking for some folks to join my team. We will talk on Yahoo, (Unless we all happen to have X-Box Live) for collaborating.

So far I got the first map rebuilt, haven't uploaded it just yet, I wanna make sure I am pretty much finished with the basic layout. Terrain setup and textures are all pretty much done, mainly worrying about Doodad Detail work. (Though I have quite a bit already)

The original campaign for Terran was pretty basic, and the first few levels are to say the least, quite boring, to play as the simplicity. During this remake, I wish to add a bit more "volume" to these early levels, to make them full fledged entertainment, and less like a tutorial. They will still be relatively easy early on, but there will be more to them.

Anyway hope to hear from folks soon, and sorry for the long time it took to revive this project. As long as I get a team, I am going to stick around and see this finished.
