So I was working on a map, I want to create a few missions, mainly taking place moments after the death of the Overmind in the first Starcraft, from the Perspective of the Terran Forces under the command of Raynor. I feel Raynor's involvement and character was kinda glossed over a lot in the Brood War Campaigns especially considering the connection to a a lot of events through out the war.
Anyway, I will post a few screenshots of the terrain work, just want some feedback on it so far.
Your the opposite of me, your natural stuff looks really good, but you manmade/tossmade could use some work. Try blending the statue into the area, non-stone statues are not usually just placed in the middle of a grove, a small temple around it, a wrecked base or evem brick textures with decals would help. Try scattering supplies in an orderly fashion by the open crates, and add some stuff onto the huts, lights are also important at terran bases, as well as security from native wildlife (fences). Making some custom doodads of parked vultures, diamondbacks, etc can also help if you give them a small repair bay.
I like the overall feel, and your natural scape is very high quality, keep it up!
Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.
Thanks, My only weakness is programming the map to be playable. I got bugs all over already just placing stuff. I dont know why, I didnt even create any new dependencies. Just using the official ones.
