    Can't say I like this. Sure, things that give an in-game advantage are bad, but "graphical markers, special text", seems very harsh.

    Either way, it isn't enforced. Nearly every top map does this.

    There's some half decent footman clones. Most maps are taken from sc1.

    People can rip your map open, publish it to b.net with whatever edit they desire, and have your own map create a new bank file.

    Totally impossible to circumvent. Waste of time even trying to protect banks beyond deterring casual hackers while this exists.

    Really disappointing. Will also make any form of paid arcade (should it ever happen) completely impossible, as any arcade map could be "pirated" on Blizzard's own service by republishing a ripped map for free.

    Map specific, first impressions
    The lighting is horrific. What on earth made you pick that lighting? Really, this bothered me in the TL thread.
    Half of the terrain appears to be blank on the minimap.
    Leaderboard covers a huge chunk of screen space.
    Boss bar seems unnecessary for how much space it takes up, given you can just mouse over the fort to see it's hp anyway.
    Map layout is incredibly boring.
    Lack of doodads mean that what terrain you do have, looks dull.

    Basically everything about this screenshot needs changing. Seriously. Look at this. Imagine if you were a first time player to your map and this was what you saw.

    More is generally not needed, because to get from page 2 to page 1, your map needs mass appeal. Bottom rank page 2 requires about 60 hours played per day. Bottom rank page 1 requires 1500.

    Getting it to page 2 is about as far as you can take it alone, and is generally all you need in terms of visibility. If your map is good and addictive, it'll hit page 1.

    Sounds way to unflexible and complex. In addition its bad for performance since there is always twice as much models in the game than needed (For each "phased" unit at least).

    Actors take up practically zero processing power if their animations are disabled. Alternatively you can just resize "invisible unit" models to match what you want in terms of selection size.

    Either way, the method works perfectly and is equally as flexible as just using a regular unit actor so long as you know how to set up the attachment properly.
