I am releasing a new TD map to the Arcade this Friday. It is called Total TD (Total Tower Defense). It is a competitive, party-themed TD. Long story short, I am looking for the community's help in defeating Blizzard's arcade "most played" system on the first day. That might actually give my map a chance (and that's all I want) to be played by the multitude of arcade players that never talk on forums or in the game channels. I have amassed a group of friends and testers to play a lot of Total TD games this Friday afternoon/evening, but I want to invite as many people as possible to at least try a game. So, if you are on SC2 this Friday, please try playing a game of Total TD in Arcade. Thanks.
Hmmm never thought of that. So just go into a game and pause?
All the same, still having my Friday evening launch party. :)
Don't pause. Just disable any afk detection, defeat triggers (make them just stop the game, rather than kick the losing players) that you might have added, and leave the game running on the lowest graphics settings.

Ah, I might try that as well. I could just make an admin chat command to disable them in-game.
Run it overnight on a free PC and you'll get to page 2 pretty easily, which is enough of a platform to get started.
So, I did my launch night. It was quite successful. Now this boosting thing to get to page 2. Are there any checks and balances for the creator doing it? Should I do it on a trial account by dumping the trial account in the game? Should I get a friend to do it?
Anyone have experience/insight with manipulating the stupid arcade system? :)

More is generally not needed, because to get from page 2 to page 1, your map needs mass appeal. Bottom rank page 2 requires about 60 hours played per day. Bottom rank page 1 requires 1500.
Getting it to page 2 is about as far as you can take it alone, and is generally all you need in terms of visibility. If your map is good and addictive, it'll hit page 1.

Thanks for the help, Eiviyn. Just wanted an idea of how it works, and yes, I have no intention of trying to boost to page 1. As you say, if it is popular from page 2, it will get there. I just wanted a fair shake at the non-forum/non-channel crowd, which is, arguably, the biggest group of people.

P.S. My actual Bnet name is Vaathen ... someone managed to jack my name here at Mapster. :(
Hey how long have you spent creating the map??

1.5 months.

Very good. I want to see your map on front page.

Total TD is now live on the Americas.
Hope to see people playing! :)
Requires HOTS (or spawn)

Why "good and addictive"? Isn't "addictive" enough?
Will be offering free coffee/beer/cigarettes when you play Total TD!
jk :)
EDIT: response to Eiviyn:

I have to say this Mapster community is awesome.
Specific, special thanks to KorvinGump for making a forum for Total TD right at his website: www.sc2gump.com
Also, huge thanks to everyone who showed up to play a few games last Friday. That was epic.
No problem vaathen, always willing to help out mappers in need :D.
