Fundamental myself, I think alot of quant models especially got reemed during the housing crash, and, while I have taken alot of math, I really believe that there are alot of variables which distort the value of stocks out there. My outlook on things is similar though not identical to, say, Peter Schiff, though I wouldn't consider myself a fan boy. I did meet him once, about 2 years back (I think), at an Austrian Conference, though I don't consider myself one, I do think that Austrian Trade Cycle theory, especially espoused by Horwitz, deserves consideration in the 08 crash.

It is sort of hard to see, but adding rock structures and xil plants, along with sharks, in water by your coasts looks really cool. I probably need to zoom in more, but the rock structure is just that, a rock structure built with doodads and xil trees.

Update, map attached. Take a look.

posted a message on About European politic

The U.S. has been bailing out financials and hedge funds since the 80s; in fact, in the early 90s (91 or 92) systemic risk (too big to fail) was mentioned in passed FDIC legislation, and with the bail out of hedge finds in the later 90s, it created the problem of moral hazard. If companies think that they will be bailed out, they will take huge risks; what is there to loose? If they succeed, the turn around is huge, and if they fail, they will be rescued; that is exactly what happened in 2008 (with the exception of LB). I really hope the EU doesn't make our mistake; billions of tax payer dollars later, we have the same risk taking financial firms, and are setting ourselves up for a repeat of 2008, though this time the bubble will occur somewhere other than the mortgage market.

Actually, the EU's central bank has been much more reasonable than the U.S. Federal Reserve on these matters; Germany, post WWII, due in great deal to the hyper inflation of the 20s, had possibly the best centeral bank in the world (with New Zealand being the next best) until the EU. Luckly, you still have the German Banking mentality, and I really hope that doesn't go away. Bailing out a government's debt, or a firm's debt, might be a short run fix, but it is not sustainable in the long run. Letting Greek debt fail, and watching their government default will, in fact, be the best thing for the Euro, which is spiraling downward in value. My recommendation: let Greece fail, and set up clear standards for EU nations debt limit such that they do not run into solvency problems again. Greek fiscal policy is unsustainable, if you bail them out, they will continue the same failed policies, and in ten years time they will be at the ECB's door wanting another bail out. All that will do is redistribute the wealth of other Europeans into the hands of reckless spenders and unsustainable plans. Letting Greece fail will give them the opportunity to make the political changes needed to put the nation back on a sustainable path, which will, in the long run, make all of Europe better without redistributing any wealth.

I forcast the economy, and research the fundamentals of firms to attempt to perdict the future price of their equity: their stock. I then make a recommendation to my team, buy, hold, or sell. I have also done some work in short sells, and I really want to get into the derivative market.

Zelda, since you haven't played any GTAs, you can also get GTA4, it's recent, and very fun. It is probably about 60ish hours of game play, maybe more, though I recall there being an xbox achievement for beating the main plot in under 35 hours. One thing that really struck me about that game were the characters, several of whom stand out in my favorite NPCs list (along with Deekin Scalesong and HK47). It's probably cheap now, too, and, if I recall, there are two DLCs for it.

I have one more semester to go, but I have worked as an analyst several summers, and will do so again starting around july....which might involve moving (great...). I really just do terrains as a hobby, and the one project I do, along side Delirium, I do to enjoy the content of the project, and because I just like to make terrains.

Online Chess. You said earlier that you wanted to play WoW; one of the best parts of that game was the auction house, and speculation (eg, buying items that you think are under priced and reselling them at a higher price), if you like that, and have always wanted to get into the stock market at some later point in your life, you can get a scottrade account and speculate/day trade (it is actually pretty addicting, and you can make yourself some great money....you can also loose yourself some money.)

MEII: It is about 30-40 hours long, if I recall, has a solid story, and is pretty fun. It is more seemless than MEII, but I doubt it is anymore of a shooter than RDR.

Online Go: Go takes abit to learn, but is a really interesting strategy game.

Baldur's Gate: You said you wanted to have something modernish, but hell, I will suggest this anyways: This is /the/ rpg. It will be cheap now, it packs alot of playing time, and has a sequel and expansions. Don't listen to that bullcrap about DAO and DA2 being "the next baldur's gate"; while DAO was a good game (I haven't played DAO), Baldur's Gate is in a league of its own (I still play it!). It will consume alot of spare time, and the lore is Forgotten Realms, which is a really rich lore.

If you liked the GTA games, you will like RDR. Almost everyone liked the GTA games, so, uh, yea!

posted a message on Is this Heart of the Swarm Ending Leaked?
    Quote from xSun: Go

You don't think a highly professional team can put together a couple of missions and one ingame-cutscene (which is propably the intro or at least very early in the campaign) in five months when the entire engine is already there?

Yes, I do think they can do that, at the same time, the engine has had some additions, and there are rumors about water mechanics and stuff. Moreover, his point about the American legal system is perfectly true. It takes time, a good deal of it, to write up the agreements, translate them into legalnses, then for others to retranslate the legalnese into english, and then to agree or disagree.

Either way, it doesn't matter. My feeling is that the plot line is at least established for all three expansions at the outside, even if they left minor parts to the development of the individual expansions. Even if this was a leak, I don't think it can be considered a massive spoiler. Come on, we all know what is going to happen: everyone unites to fight the dark voice, this is how the zerg some how are turned against it, the next expansion is how the protoss side against it, and how they all unite, and against all odds save the universe.

If you are on the NA side of things, you can see how one of these bridges works. Just search for cortex roleplay Antediluvian Vale 2.0. This is an example of the terrain cell hide technique.

posted a message on Cortex Roleplay: Antediluvian Vale 2.0

    A Yeti/Delirium production

Hey folks! This project is, I suppose, the final push of a long plan I had for the Cortex Roleplay Game: make it so that players who wanted medieval roleplay (and many did) could have that opportunity, however limited. With the data editing skills of my good friend Delirium, along with models donated by Ticeron (the footman), and Sizlak, and the WoWModels thread here, and the powerful Cortex Engine created by TheBlackMage (Aka Motive), this hope is finally being realized.

Right now we have a version released on the NA servers, and are hoping to find an EU publish. Granted, things are still a little rough around the edges, so consider this a "beta" of sorts, but still, we hope that this will really contribute to the Cortex Community. What does this project include?

    1) An Epic Terrain centered around an Ancient Vally in the Mountains 2) A Hero's Mod which includes 10 WoW heros, with abilities based on WCIII, WoW, and our imaginations! 3) All sorts of WoW models for use of @modelswap command! 4) Future content! We plan to add about 12 more heros, and later "anti heros", such as dragons. We plan on refining the mod and the map as to bring cortex roleplayers a brand new experience!

So, if you are on NA, go check it out. We are looking for an EU publisher. The mod can be used with any cortex map, however credit should go to Delirium. I will upload some in game screens tonight, or this week. A friend of mine and I plan on making a little video showcasing the mod and map, so look for that later this week.

Anyways, for patch notes and new content, check the project page under my profile. For information about the Cortex Engine 2.0, go to www.cortexrp.com. Again, expect periodic updates here. We are still learning alot about this stuff everyday! Oh, and roleplays can be organized on the Roleplaying Channel.

Anyways, yea, Delirium deserves alot of credit, more than me, as the data was pretty much him. Well, happy roleplaying friends!
