I knew someone would misunderstand my post, I do not mean 'Who cares about modding when you have pro scene'. I meant 'who cares what statistics about MELEE are showing when you have these awesome matches'. It would be in inappropriate to say I don't care on a site that's for modding and in which I am here also for modding/mapmaking

Who says the melee scene is still fine? Blizzard gave them more help than they ever gave us arcade guys.

Watching WCS Season 2 finals, 80k viewers, actually these are the viewers only online and Live, people could still watch after. Fck twitch tv doesnt work but im on a public pc atm. So who fcking cares as long as there is the pro scene and very cool matches to watch??

    1) Nice but perhaps better without the two zerg spikes on her back
    2) texture looks way off, can't see his head or is it just a body with a wizard hat?

Is there some common problem? I never experienced such things so far, haven't used HotS dependencies that much, though.

I can understand that. If I were buying a game just to use the editor, I would probably not buy the game at all. When I was with war3 and now I'm with SC2, I use both the editor, played competitively ladder, watch eSports and very rarely customs. I'm not from the usual mapmakers, that's true, what I do, I do prviately, I don't publish projects but I do casually modelling, I use the editor often lately, go bnet - full use of the game babe! - that's a reason to buy the game for me. Either way using SC2 just for the editor seems a waste of money to me.

What is the error? Are the dependecies you use if custom in installed game's Mods\ folder?

posted a message on Is there anyway to load maps from online?

Just try to get into the map list once, once you do, type something in the search field, it will limit the maps and display just few. While words you searched do not remain when you close and later open the editor, if you choose a specific section of maps to display - published, or all or some other, I think it will save the setting and never open all.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Expansion Reveal

I played Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 in around 2000-2002 and I did go far with it (Level 80 Druid elementalist after Hell difficulty being my best) but now I kind of abandoned the Diablo world as I made my choice with SC2, don't think I will ever play Diablo 3 or its expansion. It was nice I did for Diablo 3 beta one day when it was free and already felt fed up. All the problems of the game that you speak about, I've heard them and I guess I am not missing much, Diablo 2 was truly that great and epic and D3 I heard lost this continuous epicness.

Partially, I think I don't like doing things with Angels and Demons stories anymore, so this may be the reason as well as me liking Space and Futuristic Sci Fi much more.

However, they make great cinematics, looks even better than HotS cinematics, no? Is this the graphics you wanted to see in SC2 to not be cartoony? To be movie-like?

Really, Fockewolf??? Have you taken part in the conspiracy b-n Blizzard and Mapster or have been like me in Hive since 2004, or maybe to favor your idea of the game too bad - that's why Hive didn't switch to it? Or anything differing from you is 'nonsense' you know-it-all? Anyone serious enough to take part in something will get over the difficulties and get used to it, live with it, forget about them.

I am not talking about Arcade but about the Editor, it is as it is, needs more to work on, but it;s fine.

I have complained like anyone about BNet features, eventually since my thing was playing I got over them and lived with it, still demanded the new features but it didn't matter any more. The editor - for the things you can do with it is going fine, simpler for what you can do with it? Not happening.

When you have a desire to do something, you will build cities, when you don't have it, you will always think of excuses.

You do not speak for all, you are not all, you are not the community, you are just you. And stop pretending everything you say is the Holy Truth.

And there I thought you were more than just a hard core QQer, nope, nothing more than that. I will just ignore your whining as well but let's make it clear - keep it here, no one is supposed to see your crying on every thread.

posted a message on Dependency Data not Found.

Did you pay attention to the error's meaning? One way it happens is when your custom dependency is not in the Mods\ folder, when you have deleted or changed from higher dependency (HotS Story) to lower one, leaving some data placed on the map blank.

    1. Curse and Blizzard came into a deal so that only mapster was supported, This caused Hive workshop, Sen and a few others to pretty much have no chance, so some people switched, the rest just quit.

That sounds like some conspiracy nonsense. Idk what Sen is (Sen, the Zerg player from Taiwan? lol) but every site chooses its own direction and Hive has made this choice pretty clear even though I even offered them to make a switch. I could blame it all on their owner after having been there for many years and now that we don't like each other and we had our wars there. Though, now that I think - a site devoted to StarCraft which mapster seems to have been before I even came here will naturally get more people than a site that has to make a transition from one game (war3) to SC2.

Overall I can say SC2Mapster is one of the most helpful communities, I've heard of sc2legacy, but here there are many people to help. It doesn't matter if few moderators don't help when many other members and mods are quite helpful here and on the irc chat.

Oh and yes, I personally also dislike trashtalk (call me an elitist but I have no such relation towards Arcade just in general), so if you learn to not get banned on TL.net you will be pro at using a forum ")

posted a message on Modify Victory Screen/Recreate and HotS Cpg Planet Zoom In

    I. Victory Screen

I want to have a certain item display when certain events happen. I came up to the idea, the item to be something like the Victory screen but I would replace 'Victory!' with something else and the name below e.g "CiniCraft' with something else. Probably would change the Terran gold decal there with stars or planets or starmap, some more interactive screen.

Here is the original look of such a screen:

    http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/M2Qv24VA-yM/maxresdefault.jpg

    1. Can I somehow modify the victory panel to be my own customization?
    2. Or if not, is Dialogs the only way? What textures, fonts to be exactly like the Victory Screen if anyone's done it?

    II. HotS Planet Zoom View

I may want to possibly use the effect like on HotS Campaign during Evolution Missions when zooming in a planet, some effect of stars and sky view is done until it reaches the surface of the planet - I might want to use this reversed (starting from a planet and zooming out), how can I use/do this?

Hmm Pollux and Castor, Gemini, am I right (haven't done it in a long time)? No I haven't seen that on the internet, just remember based on personal observation, learning the starry night and have studied even been examined on things like that, I love Astronomy/Astrophysics!

You have great ideas there, in fact I have thought of that myself - the StarCraft II editor is excellent for recreating a cosmic event (I mean like if you watch a documentary where they use some computer graphics and their own software for such, one could use SC2 editor for that!)

So what would be enough for you? You present things in way more dramatic way than they are... Like some desperation and no one shares that. In fact, those opinions here if fulfilled will do the mapmaking into greater thing than War3 or anything else had, what more? I am not taking part in another 'SC2 is dying' drama.

I have always used triggers and I would say give all the things that now are done with a work around and included in Libraries - direct triggers like Spinning, some Use Item Orders because the current ones don't work well. Change PITCH and ROLL of actor in Data (yeah all - not just Doodads). Like I often times needed to change PITCH of UNITS...

Single Player browse your own maps in-game like any older game
