Zealot Frenzy is a featured custom map that has been deleted however, it appears to still be a featured map. Blizzard should remove it and replace it with a working map

posted a message on How did a map went from just released to 1st page?

Well, jerberson12 the people that complain about the map don't play the map or played it once. The rest are playing the map because they want to play the map. It is that simple. You shouldn't perceive sc players of people that go on the forums alone. Most players actually don't participate in any forums

Good job DrHu. I myself declared to make a piano map back in july.... still in my to-do list lol. The youtube video was great, it showed a great proof of concept of creating a synthesizer inside a starcraft map.

Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void - Campaign Discussion

[glow=red,2,50]Note: Map Night on hold until patch 1.2 settled in[/glow]

I just played the Starcraft 2 campaign again and I must say I enjoyed the campaign tech tree and armory. In between campaign levels, players are given credits/points to spend on base upgrades. These base upgrades are permanent and will help with upcoming missions in succeeding your objectives. These upgrades include: enabling new units, adding health/armor to buildings and improving resource extracting. Credits/points are scare so players must decide carefully which managements to invest on and which to ignore. I enjoyed replaying the campaign in many different ways.

Today, I would like to discuss ideas of the upcoming expansion pack: Legacy of the Void. Here are some random ideas of what the Protoss Campaign MAY BE like and how the research/upgrade managements will unfold.

Note: Must listen to this song while reading this topic.

En Taro Edun, Executor. The Xelnaga Duran Clones has been hatched (seen in the Heart of the Swarm) and now the entire galaxy is in chaos. Billions of Zerg/Protoss hybrids are destroying many protoss, terran and zerg worlds. With the help of Zeratul, Raynor and the new Overmind, you must destroy all Xelnaga Temples to stop the terrifying hybrids.

The Gantrithor II, Zeratul's carrier flagship is hovering over an unknown planet. The Protoss campaign levels will be taken place in this ship. Like the Hyperion Battlecruiser, the Gantrithor II will have places to visit, tosses to talk to, and research to invest in.

The Altar - This place is where protoss commandeer the ship. Like The Bridge in WoL, you may access past and present levels of the campaign.

Oracle Armory - Place where you may channel pylon energies to create upgrades for your Protoss Forces.

En Taro Shrine - Here lies the Crystal Network. As you play through the early levels of the campaign, you will need to rebuilt relationships with many different protoss warriors. Most have a deep cultural prejudice against Dark Templars (Zeratul). When you defeat them, you gain their allegiance and they built WarpGates to the Carrier flagship. One by one, you must gain the power to wield the unique powerful units from different tribes such as the, immortals, stalkers, phoenixes, etc.

Celestial Warp-in: You may call upon friendly reinforcement warriors both Raynor's and Zerg Kerrigans here (In HotS, Kerrigan gets to continue controlling her minions). Zeratul decides to reunite many small Protoss tribes around the galaxy. You may warp-in extra units to the battlefield.

The Pensieve: A bonus sacred place inside the Carrier with allows you to replay the epic Protoss campaigns from Starcraft 1. Relive the battles and old heroes.

    More coming soon.

posted a message on Desert Strike Night

Hello, Id like to present everyone with what I am working on that I declared back in July but couldn't edit because my comp couldn't run it but now i have a better comp. (yay for run-on). I remaking Desert Strike Night, the sequel to DS. This tug-of-war map will emphasize on sabatoge and base macro management.

Everyone Put on you Desert Strike Thinking caps, and take a gander at these new ideas:
    Misc:

Description: Random ideas which can be heavily modified in any aspect.

    1. NINE total Tribes will be available to play with - three from Protoss, three from Terran and three from Zerg. Each Tribe will have a few unique units, unique spells, and also have some units unavailable.

The Brood Decays - A parasitic zerg special tribe. They will focus on grotesque spell casting. Weak offensively.

Kerrigan's Krusade - Aggressive zerg tribe. They consist of fast, light armor forces in large numbers. Each pool consist 1 extra zergling but overall lower health. Able to summon kerrigan clone, extra heavy atk, low health. Great for punishing Silos and Fortresses... if she doesn't die before reaching them

Shell of Mar Sara - Defensive low attack barbaric tribe. some units will get a +.05 armor and health but lower attack. Only Zerg tribe to create Uberlisk (1 per team)

Arbiter Alliance - A protoss tribe with enhance psi powers. They can survive and outwit any toss tribe using the fewest resources available. Archons have stronger attack power and templar psi storms are bigger.

Fenix Fellowship - powerful tribe of essence specializing in enhancing the zealot warrior. Zealots members in this tribe are given powerful upgraded blades with +1atk and +10 health. Blade of Auir dislikes air units having less attack. Able to summon Spirit of Fenix: a hero dragoon unit. (looks like a skinny immortal with no harden shields)

Shield of Gantrithor - A defensive protoss tribe. Only tribe allowed to purchase the Mothership (1 per team and this mothership). A gigantic warship without any scratch. *Note: This mothership will be more defensive and have very low attack.

Raynor's Raiders - A small rebel fleet. Low resources and techs. Fortunately, they're able to call upon the Hyperion a gigantic BC. A Battle Battle Cruiser!

Beast Barrage - Ground type special platoon. Can build 3 classes of tanks and able to Build the Odin, a large Thor capable of deploying Siege tanks (just like starcraft 1 map)

Valkyie's Wing An air specified tribe.

More information on the tribes coming soon

Tribe information: There will only be FEW differences between each tribe to limit imbalance issues. The philosophy behind this is like playing Civilization or Age of Empire, Each race are extremely similar except one or two unique units and researches. I bring this to give more folklore/depth of characters instead of the standard three race. These Races will most definately change from their names and tribe specs.

    2. There will be two resources (maybe three). Mineral resources will be used to build buildings. Gas resources will be used to upgrade different buildings and (more coming soon).

    3. The Battlefield will revert back to being horizontal and rectangular. Think of DS on Income wars terrain. Simple

    4. Castle Invasion - Each build area you build on will be surrounded by a castle-like wall with a heavy gate. A long Narrow strip will be attached the the gate. Players will be able to use resources to promote attacks against your castle wall and gates. Once breached, opponents may steal YOUR resources and tamper with one or two of your buildings!

    5. Building Tech Tree Upgrades - each building you build can be upgraded to tech up your own specific group of units. For example, a barracks can be upgraded into either a Firehouse - gives rines explosive damage (unfortunately it will lock up firebats); or upgrade into a Synergistic Lab - gives longer stimpacks. Alongside the different tribes each having unique unit(s), Building Tech Trees will have multiple passages opening new units as well as closing new/old unit opportunities and abilities.

    6. Silo - Small revamp on silo. Different size or look. Maybe change silo to have different random monster that have different spells. Maybe have the silo reward be a varaible: Silo reward is depended on how many Gas Buildings each team has. Have two silos, one near top and one near bottom. Widen the battlefield and allow players to choose with side to spawn, near bottom or near top.

    7. QueenGambit Shop - A blackmarket network in the SC universe. A place where you can BID (not purchase) on spells and upgrades and mercenaries. You can purchase things like more health on silo, higher attack damage of cannons.

    8. Tournaments and Spectators - Have the option of playing special tournaments as well as having other players spectate the game.

    9. Duran - ???

    Spells:

Description: These spells will be used to Sabotage your Opponents or gain the upper-hand in battle. Spells can be either acquired by many ways - purchasing them, having a certain minimum number of gas buildings, etc.

    1. Ice Trap - Players can choose an opponent to "freeze" their income for 30 seconds. Effective when used against opponents that have many Gas Buildings. It can also be effective against those trying to make a special.

    2. Blind Eye - Players can choose an opponent (only 1) to have no vision for 30 seconds. When blinded, you cannot see the entire map nor build any building.

    3. Fortress Defense - When activated, dormant defense systems underneath your Nexus (or silo) will be online. Maybe have them activate for 30 secs or unlimited but low health? Maybe have different kinds of Fortress defense like ones that specializes in killing certain units and races?

    4. Field Plague (new name wanted) - This will gradually/slowly decrease enemy shields/health in a period of 15 seconds with a total of 50% shields/health removed.

    5. Armageddon - Deploys multiple nukes in battlefield killing both friend and foe. Lingering radiation decreases health.

    6. Direct Command - Lets human players take control of units in field for only 20 seconds and then those units dies. Lots of restrictions needs to be imposed since people can simply bring all their units and concentrate fire on the Fortress lol.

    7. Sentry Pulse - Player controls an invincible sci vessel allowing it to cast 20 Defense Matrixes (mini defense bubble surrounding any unit)

    8. Switcheroo - All computer forces battling in the field will change sides. That means Red will turn to Blue and Blue will turn into Red. They will then start running backwards towards their enemy Fortress.

posted a message on [Official] Forum upgrade suggestions

Hello, I would like to give some suggestions in improving this site.

    1. On the front page, remove the Popularity section because its never updated nor used.
    2. Bump up the About SC2mapster to the up where Popularity used to be.
    3. Remove the What should we do with SYN box.
    4. Add Map Night as part of the Current events
    5. Create a collapsible box at the top of the forums for in-forum Ajax chatting. (i've asked that many times, u said no, but i still would like it =D)
    6. Remove lots of Stickies on some categories due to clutter.
    7. Remove me from Team Gambit and QueenGambit productions Team. (This glitch is still here)
    8. Have the control panel list the reccent posts you made.
    9. Have a Mail symbol next to name to immediately send a private message to that person.
    10. Do something with one of these suggestions to show that you care =D

Op: "And there were other games that people played during wc3. What's your point?"

There is a solid community for these console games and other PC games. Went to a Gamestop and the employees there were suprise that i was buying a PC game

posted a message on Sc2mapster Map Night!

Hmm, there was some confusion from my part.

I was waiting for Sixen or some Moderator to make the map night official and put it up on the front page.

Edit: also, although some ppl said they would want to play, I set a date but nobody replied "yes, this time is good for me".

Yah! i'll play till sunrise. I will host radio songs too and we can all tune in!

Then play Left 4 dead 2!

posted a message on Making this site a little better!! :) (Idea)

    I would like to add:

It would be nice to have a place or a list of group of people whereas you can ask privately AFTER exhausting all resources - (experimenting, searching) and expect an immediate response if that person is online. Maybe setup a voluntary schedule of members willing to answer basic to advance questions many times. Some kind of tutoring system for the site perhaps =P

So, instead of browsing and researching and trying to find a post similar to your problem, you can simply ask someone privately (if you don't want to open up a new thread).
