I've been playing this game on and off. I'd would be interesting to see any sc2mappers here. I play on Heaven's Tear Server. Screen name: QueenGambit (yes is case sensitive) http://www.perfectworld.com/
Hmm, I am not going to stream anything. I was thinking just simply setup a forum thread and make a roster of who wants to show up (RSVP not necessary). During Sc2mapster Map Night, I will try to invite everyone in a chatbox in sc2 or just meet up in our IRC. We will then discuss different fun maps to play, test some maps, and arrange fun map tournaments.
This is a great way to jump right into custom games and play alongside with other sc2mapster members. It will be easy for members to just simply add everyone as friends and before you realize it, all sc2mapster members will be bnet friends =D
Sure I'd love to host something like this for NA. I am thinking Thursday or Friday (8:00 PST) or anything else.
Edit: @Jackolas, update your sc2mapster profile to display your bnet screen name and 3 digit identifier
I was thinking of setting up an official weekly map night for people to participate and play custom maps together. We can all share many maps that you guys published, test developing maps, provide feedback and just chat all night as if there was a channel in bnet 2.0. This is better than sitting at the IRC channel full of idlers talking to nobody.
When and what time and how long? What day and hour is good for everyone?
Maybe have several map nights a week to fit with other regions?
There werent that many compared to now. The 3 year hype is over and now people are moving on. Some projects have stopped (like mine). Others just simply stopped map making to enjoy their time playing the game. Others have purchased the game but are now playing other games.
Before you start a flame war with me Eiviyn let me just say I am on the right page as you. We and many others have noticed the drop of activity.
I am merely shedding light to the subject of your question, "Where did everyone go?"
Starcraft 2 isn't the only game people are playing...
There are just too many games for anyone to enjoy. I am sure some people that have Starcraft 2 have other games they would like to play like that shooting black op game.
In the situation where you are browsing the forums and not logged in, once you login, you will be able to continue where you left off browsing the forums instead of starting back in the front page
(sorry english is my 2nd language)
Edit 1:Also, when I editing my post (like this one), when i hit update, nothing happens to my browser, I have to click on refresh afterwards to see the edited post finalized. When i click on update, it should automatically refresh my browser and page down to my post. Maybe it has something to do with not writing a editing reason? Only when i write an editing reason does the update button works
oh yah definately, I cannot thank Squarely for recreating my map version of the DS legacy. Many of my fans back on sc1 is dying to see a new version with many cool concepts I've invented and imagined.
My map team, Looking Glass League has been stagnant for months. This Declaration will help revive the team
Note: I've said this many times, the reason why I haven't been editing maps is that my own computer cannot even display the terrain in the map editor, my video graphics card is to low. Whenever I login bnet and play a game, I am always lagging. From this moment, I will try to edit anyway. Hopefully I can save up money for a better gaming desktop soon.
I am looking for any map makers interested in helping me create Desert Strike Night, a Tug of War Custom SC2 map JUST LKIE Desert Strike v Square.
The objective of the game is to destroy your opponents Night Fortress. There are 2 teams, each consisting 3 human players and 1 computer player. The human players are responsible for training computer units that rages a bot war in the field. The team that destroys the enemy fortress, wins the game!
History
Desert Strike vSquare is a map inspired by my map back in Starcraft 1. Now, Id like to make an official sequel to my cult classic here in sc2.
Desert Strike Night VS Desert Strike vSquare
The key distinction between this map and the current DSvS is that my map will put heavy emphasis in Management and Sabatoge. Players will be able to tech through many research to help them in the battlefield. They must purchase these researches in order to - Create better tier units, make upgrades on their units, give more upgrades to the Fortress, increase mineral flow from gas, etc. Another managing gameplay would be Unit Upgrades. Players will be able to give upgrades to single units (atk, armor, etc) to individual buildings. Sabatoge spells are a big factor in Desert Strike Night. Unlick in DSvS, DSN allows players to Sabatoge Opponents Management as well as countering spells. One spell example is The Ice Trap - Players income will freeze for 30 seconds. A powerful spell used well against players who generates lots of money, potentially leaking 1000 minerals in one cast! Another spell example is The Boom Assassin - Players will be able to eliminate their opponents boom for the price of one of their booms. There are currently 15 spells and over 9,000 concepts running through my head!
I used a different font because its more pwetty but I can understand that the picture may seem unbelievable because they aren't the same fonts. Its funny how u comment on the font but not the awesome I N C E P T I O N!! dun dun dun

Personally I would merge "Created" and "SectionList" into one robust list: find a game you want to play, then expand it like a folder to reveal the lobbies...keep the current system in the form of a comprehensive list of every map on Battle.net, sortable by any number of criteria (including popularity) such as upload date, rating, and alphabetical order. Actually this should still be the primary means of playing a game...In fact, merge the lobby concept into the comprehensive list. Then you can sort by "most recent hosted," select the game and see all the available lobbies.
I agree. I am trying to think of a way to put both Created and SectionList together. So that there will be ALL of those criterias combined in one list.
I will continue improving the pics to fit that.

Hosting games should remain on blizzard servers, not dedicated, it is inconvenient for a lot of players. hosting on their servers works perfectly fine and it works for everyone, where as dedicated did have its flaws....more rants vs colt...comeback comments on colts comments....comments the comments that commented the comment from colt and even though he typed a lot, it was easier to ignore it....more comebacks towards colt...
Actually yeah. Hosting should remain on Blizzard servers. People mistakenly associate dedicated servers with vs popularity list. My criteria on having game list like "LOL left 4 dead join now!!" can still work with Blizzard hosting it still. (I think?)
@Gimpexe (previous posts)
Thank you for the constructive criticisim. It did take a long time to do these but I was getting paid at the same time (lol). Yes! its exactly D2 except with the spooky background. Yeah the amount of information can be overwheming. I think theres a misinterpretation on that window. That picture you commented on was to showcase that everything CAN be a window if you can and you can have possibly EVERYTHING opened stacked on top of each other. I will provide with a more better picture. The filter names can be reworked i agree. Maybe have like fancy boxes and like an icon and borders. A noob wouldn't even think that they're even clickable links.
I don't like the improving the popularity system because that Op has his own idea and I have mine.
Quick story, (ignore the following if your morally sensitive): So i couldn't find my cracked version of cs5 adobe photoshop so i went and powered up the wonderful GIMP. Gimp is extremely powerful like adobe, its free and the file size is only 30mb compared to 1gig. unfortunately I am just 'more comfortable' with UI photoshop rules. So i piratebayed that adobe and transfered everything to photoshop =D Grrreat Sucess
