Wouldn't it be cool to talk to your troops? Like a spell when you click on a drone, it activates the conversation with your servant. That'd be VERY cool! :D Just throwing out ideas ok? :D

I found them but they are not zergish. I'm going to use the standard minerals that you can find in melee but I need a meaningfull texture that claims the tile as a treasury :|
"Zerg cliff" and "Zerg infested cliff" are quite good for that. If you use either the mineral cart or the melee minerals, it should fit. Some model variations in the "Zerg cliff" are not that good though, but you should definitely take a look at these.
About the casino now... Well, maybe mushrooms could fit here. If you make them large and flat, it's almost like a table to play on. (just thinking about zergs doing their best poker face in circle around a mushroom made me laugh :D )
Someone's about to lose and he's not gonna be very happy. xD
->
Holy shit do you know I love you? :D
The problem will be making that using triggers but I like challanges, I just discovered how to destroy all room actors in a tile so I can add how many I want ;)
That should not be a problem ;)
BTW I love ultralisks playing cards :D
P.S.
You know you'll go directly to the credits for this, right? xD
lol, glad i could be of help. Your project is amongst the most ambitious that I have seen. i had to put in an allusion to the movie "300" in a previous post to express how i felt about your current progress.
Lemme know if you need a little help with stuff, since I'm already on the credits page, might as well do some actual work. xD
Urgghh... This is the 1st time I heard a game called Dungeon Keeper... Man I though I know a lot about VG but apparently not lolz... Is that game popular back then?
Urgghh... This is the 1st time I heard a game called Dungeon Keeper... Man I though I know a lot about VG but apparently not lolz... Is that game popular back then?
Quite popular but not enough.
Sure it deserved more success for the original gameplay and lot of fun it offers :O
Well, due to the nature of Dungeon Keeper's evil and dungeon like atmosphere I decided to add some lightning to my project to spice it up. But in your video I can't see that. What I'd like to suggest is for you to include some sort of lightning, that would give it a more infectious atmosphere, somewhat dark (wet?) creepy but without loosing the volume of colours.
Secondly, I'm not entirely sure if you've changed this but I'd recommend that reduce the amount of green you've tinted the selected walls. Perhaps making it center around the player's colour a bit or make it a bit more zergish, that is, purple, or bloody as a target. Just can't see green working very well.
Yep I changed the map lightning but I did it before making the wall models, I tuned it for cliffs that I will never use :D
I think I should give it a look again ;)
The green is a new half transparent actor that hovers the previous one and it's a standard selection like the original DK, it should not look creepy because it's just UI and not part of the environment.
So what is dungeon keeper any way? Are there any blocks or will be any, that can't be destroyed or w/e? Is there only one keeper? ( so something similar to dungeon and dragons?)
Btw, it mighty look a bit better if you made the blocks randomly choose 1 out of 4 angles (0,90,180,270) so that the textures don't look repetitive. (Might not look good depending on the texture u use tho). Looks good so far. =D
Omg I cannot believe that people don't know Dungeon Keeper ^_^
WIthout this game I would have become a guy who always selects the good side in games I think xD
In Dungeon Keeper you are the keeper, some kind of an infernal lord. in most levels you have to battle
the humans and their allies (giants, fairies, dwarfs). You dungeon heart is like you own heart, if it dies
you loose, too. In some levels you have to fight against other keepers to show these loosers you are
the deadliest one of them all :D
The horned reaper , or in german "Horny" " , is I think the general or something like that, he is the
mightiest creature in dungeon keeper, you can only summon him by sacrificing some of your creatures
in a temple room you can build. (in DK 2 it is a bit different).
This looks fantastic. If you need a better tester, or suggestions for monsters etc. I would LOVE to help. Dungeon Keeper 2 was one of my all time favourite games and you have a remarkable system at work here, makes me giddy!
I think i'd enjoy Keeper versus Keeper-Things usually stay more balanced that way.
''Evil ALWAYS finds a way'' xD while i admit that dungeon keeper is nice... i think i preffer Overlord in terms of Ebilness xD
Oh and the map is looking nice it'd be nice if you added a diplomacy system for more then 2player battles o.o oh and neutral monsters so it isent just player vs player.... just throwning ideas though =P
I took a look to startropia and I really don't like this game xD
BTW the DK combat system is really better, I love the fact you don't have direct control on your minions, it makes the game really different from other strategy games.
Giving direct orders would make the game too similar to stacraft, don't you think? ;)
In startopia, you have no control of your minions. Like I mentioned before, you click on the enemy and a target comes up, it's more a suggestion for the minions to attack it, not a demand. As for the rest, the minions do what they like, you don't personally control any of them. In fact, you have a lot less control than you do in dungeon keeper since you can't even pick them up. Startopia does look like a joke and seems like a kiddie-like game, but you should definitely try it out, it's really impressive.
If startopia didn't have the crappy sector idea, I'd think it'd be better than dungeon keeper. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover, remember that the majority of the bullfrog programmers made this game..

Goodluck! I'll check in frequently.
I still need a good idea for the treasury room, I need some good doodads where i can place my minerals on. Maybe some pedistals but they must be zergish :)
Here's a better quote =P

Neutral monsters were already present in DK and conquerable monsters too ;). I think I will use protoss as the neutral race.
What do you mean by diplomacy? It's just a melee game 1v1 2v2 or FFa, why would u need diplomacy in this?

I watched a gameplay video and yes, I hated the sectors building as you. BTW it seemed really similar to DK but with crappy build system and the kind of alien environment I don't like. If you have in mind single features that I can take in consideration just tell them as you did with the combat system (that I don't like too :D)
mah forget it i thought it through abit more and realised it'd just bring an army of morons <.<;; but what...... someone.. said is true... you probably shouldent just mimick everything from Dungeon keeper... maybe add something of your own aswell?

The original game mechanics are enough good to be just copy/pasted, btw unit abilities, spells and traps will be obviously different from the original game. Consider that I'm also adding more gameplay modes and that's for me a good way to launch something new on this game.

@Skittles17: Go
There are undiggable, gold, gems, water, lava tiles in the original game.
Actually in my mod I'm missing gems, water and lava.
The game could be played in 2 ways, keeper vs adventurers and keeper vs keeper (like sc2 melee).
Graphic will be improved later, now I'm trying to complete a playable version ;)
