Maybe replace the knifing ability with a "kicking" or "shoving" melee attack that knocks back one enemy and can knock back a wave of enemies in a line... But comes at a cost of some energy and longer cooldown than knifing.
Maybe you can right click it, and it activates on it's own if a enemy gets extremely close to you, thus you will get lucky and kick a enemy away but if you are swarmed then it isn't enough.
Plus takes the micro out of the knifing segments when your focusing on shooting and moving.
hey guys, just wanted to say ur map is what inspired my zombies map... so i'll give you a good tip i used to boost the gameplay in mine. At the completion of certain objectives (in mine you held a communications post for several seconds) you can have a squad of vikings fly a round nearby and bomb everything in their path... How i did it is as follows:
5 vikings spawn and are incontrollable or selectable, but they spawn on an allied team so you can see em. They fly to a given point, and every .35 seconds, explosive barrels spawn underneath them (at their positions) on a random team owned by players (so every player can inherit kills from the strike). The explosive barrels have miniaturized models so you can't see em, and they have -99999 health regen. I modified the damage parameters so that they can only hurt enemies, not neutral, allied, or self owned units. After they reach a given region, the vikings vanish and the bombs stop...
it worked beautifully in my map and i'm sure you can use it without more than an hour's effort.
once again congratulations on the outstanding map... I admit i might not revisit this thread, so pm me if you like the idea... thnks
EDIT: you may also have to remove the footprint and pathing requirements on the explosive barrels so they can land wherever the vikings are flying
The team behind NOTD has just released our 1st App Store game - Night Runner. Find 'Night Runner' on any App Store globally and give feedback at www.playblueberry.com. Thank you
I don't know if you have thought of this, or if anyone is still working on this, but have you thought about using the Starship Trooper TPS engine for this? Where you can switch from overhead view to third person shooter view, and you can control your character and shoot?

What's with that robot as the enemy? Where is the werewolf? What about Bella? The name of the vamp should be Edward!
Wow, the future sucks. But you know what? The past wasn't so great either.
I'd say the level of detail of this back story goes way above and beyond what people would expect from not just a Starcraft 2 game, but really any game. Reminds me of Deus Ex a whole lot.
Substantial polishing updates have been made to NOTD over the past 2 months - primarily based on our player feedback. I invite the community to give feedback on our latest iteration across NA, EU and SEA servers. We're looking forward to the next patch to give us more map editor functionality to work with. In addition, we are recruiting to expand the NOTD development team - artists, programmers, and web designers.
Night of the Dead (NOTD) has been constantly evolving and updated over the past 3 years since SC2 was launched in July 2010. Over this time, we had the priviledge to be featured on Blizzard Arcade (http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/8649257), SC2Mapster and given a mention on PC Gamer (http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/01/27/the-best-starcraft-ii-mods-available-now/). We are now nearing the end of our development for NOTD and are preparing to launch a sequel - Night of the Dead 2.
This will take the story from the Moon to Mars and will be a new mod. It will feature new enemies, better AI, more weapons and a new landscape. We're raising funding on Kickstarter for our sequel - Night of the Dead 2. Please support us if you liked NOTD and want to see the sequel come to life. More details in the NOTD 2 Kickstarter link below:
Your plans look awesome! I will give a shoutout to your kickstarter in my next GameHeart blog update, which will definitely happen before your kickstarter ends.
Good news. We've recently completed work on our new NOTD loading screen (attachment) and it's now live across all servers. We've invested close to 4,500 hours into NOTD's development over the past 4 years and will continue polishing it. We've also submitted our application for Blizzard's Rock the Cabinet contest:

Please support our contest submission if you've enjoyed our work over the years, so that we can better improve NOTD.
New NOTD - Mad World Trailer.
Cool video. I like to see artsy promo videos :)
What do you use to make these?
Hi Bashar, we use Sony Vegas and Fraps.
Ah, thanks. I've been considering an investment in decent recording software for my own projects. Keep up the good work.
