my latest baby became playable and i would like to request honest feedback for it.
It's a rpg / survival map that is playable with 1-5 people. you can jump in directly, the gameplay should be intuitiv enough. hope you enjoy.
currently missing are most modifications for the hunters (4 hats, 1 decal. 4 colours for now)
item varity is a little poor right now, but will improve. also forging items will be possible later.
Only 4 bosses added yet.
- I think you should add a range indicator for attacking whenever hitting A
- Sometimes the camera seems a bit too rotatey. At first I thought it was cool then I started to think it was headachey. (Ah cool after awhile I noticed the camera button and the option to not follow unit facing)
- I don't know about other people, but when I play a game like this where you have to constantly click with a unit, the messages the units say whenever you give an order get super annoying and repetitive after awhile. Like telling my guy to move somewhere and he does the marauder acknowledge noise. Gets old.
- Looked like the flying enemy had a silly brood lord death animation.
Well that's the constructive stuff I had while playing about 10 or so minutes of it. I thought the UI was quite good. It has definite potential. GLHF!
You can force your way through the guards by using a spam clicker and having it spam right click. Issuing a command directly beside the Militia make them move over slightly, do that enough and you have enough space to go through in advance.
So far, I'm sure your game will make the top 10 for the RTC. Pimp out the UI in whatever way possible, I found that Blizzard likes a really good looking UI.

should i change it? which factor would you change? the delay between refreshs, duration it takes to center unit facing? i did alot of tweaking already to get it where it is now.

Camera - By a delay do you mean it would wait longer before turning? That might help, though I would need to try it out for sure. You could experiment with giving more camera options, but of course there is always the possibility of over burdening people with options. I think in the end since I was able to turn off the camera auto-rotate, that did end up being sufficient for myself.
Unit sound - Honestly I don't know how this would be implemented, but if it were possible for say the unit to only respond every 5 clicks (arbitrary number) instead of every click, that would help a lot. Cuz when you're dodging attacks and stuff you may be giving 2-3 clicks a second, so the voice gets really annoying in those times. Maybe there's a way you could have the game monitor a player's APM and reduce the unit sound when its high.
If an enemy is close no rotating. otherwise it will rotate camera and wait at least 4 seconds and +1 second for every 30 degree it had to rotate until it will rotate again. the duration it rotates is at least 2.5 seconds + 1 second for every 30 degrees.
the sound is changed to rifleman now and i set a propability of 20% to be played.

I also don't have my abilities (had just +1 point at the load up)... and my gold is lost. All i have left are those useless orbs ;D And btw. why there's no rpg like inventory - bag, with more slots than just those 6.
I agree that default camera is too annyoing. You should drop that feature (or do something that will make it less awkward as it is now). I liked more auto camera rotate at certain areas. Like the mission with mutalisk, while going up the hill camera was rotating at every corner. It felt nice. There should be more points like that. So you get to see the world from different angle, without annoying cam that rotates every second.
Any plans on tweaking numbers? Gameplay related - hp, damage etc. Or you rather polish what you have already without doing bigger rework?
the load feature will be fixed next patch. need to wait for my terrainer to fix the fence first. also i want the mutalisk mission to be shorter. swamp needs some rework too.
what do you have in mind by tweaking numbers? you must have a very specific idea. just post everything you think about it (i read your review), also in numbers. currently damage of enemies increase with each mission by 0.5. hp by 1 for most, 10 for bosses (on normal) , some units get range, some speed.

since you were not the only one i will add this with the next patch. i thought about it first but thought it would be too much noise on the screen.
