I recently decided to make a capture flag mod, but I don't know much about Mod development, and Youtube tutorials doesn't help much in that aspect, I know how to edit data and all, how the units are made and how to change their stats, but I don't even know how to start this "Capture Flag", any tutorial or advice? or even a first step you could give me?
Probably make the flag like a resource pickup (mineral/vespene pallet), so that it "collects" when a unit comes near it. It could then give a flag buff to the unit that collected it. You can attach models to units based on buffs, so you could attach a flag to the unit this way. Then with triggers you can detect when a unit enters a region, if it has the flag buff, then score points/etc.

Are you after a basic go to location, channel a target and have a model/buff added to the unit that then has to go to a goal zone?
Contribute to the wiki (Wiki button at top of page) Considered easy altering of the unit textures?
