I agree, everyone is more then welcome to express there concerns about him removing debates, (though he has already re-added it). However, please keep from going off on the posters other posts, they have nothing to do with this topic. We are all mapers here, or people who love to play maps. Lets keep the topic to that, and not about the user.

Maybe you are right, but Blizz is doing so much mistakes these days that
I can actually believe they have other people to choose the maps.
Debates is popular os sc2mapster, but no one knows about it on
Battle.net. If you can publish a map (even private), the best maps in
the tournament will be that maps you would hate to play for more than 30
seconds. So, I bet Blizzard would rather choose a polished published
not-very-much-popular map than a map with 9999 bugs.
And you don't think Blizzard reads Mapster? You don't think they've seen the maps to spotlight on our news? :P.

I think they read, but not all of them. I don't think they will keep track of all maps once published before. Between popular maps and bugged maps, I bet they will choose the popular ones. I won't be surprise if Nexus Wars win the contest. But, anyway, it's worth to try.
I message you a week later to ask to play and you give me a cold response even though you'd been friendly in the beginning when you were asking to help spread it. There wasn't a need to be friendly anymore since it was popular I take it.
I don't let people down just because a map gets popular. I'm really glad you helped me, and I will always be. If I gave you a cold response, which I don't remember, it wasn't intentional. I'm really sorry. Everyone that helped my map once still my friend. I would never treat someone badly just because of a map getting popular. If I sounded cold, I'm sorry, I didn't want to.
Edit: I deleted the map to have a chance to join the map contest, since the map cannot be published and no one was playing it anyway. However, I keep receiving messages of people asking me to re-upload. So, I re-uploaded it, but the map stills out of the list. I might delete again 1 week before the contest deadline to be able to submit it, if this won't annoy the Debates players.
Mate, did you even read the rules of the contest? The map has to be entirely unreleased. You cannot enter "Debates" or a new version of it into the contest, as the map has to be originally unreleased.
"How to Enter: To enter, a qualified entrant will complete the entry checklist and thereafter submit an original, unreleased, UMS custom map"
The entire point of the contest is to get new creative maps released that otherwise wouldn't exist.
That's a new rule. When I first read, it hadn't this.
Well, it's just impossible to test a multiplayer map without at least publishing it on private. Every elaborated map is bugged when you test for the first time. There's just no way to submit a working multiplayer map without publishing it first.

Your map just isn't fun for people anymore, sorry. On the bright side, you probably learned a lot from making it. Next time use what you learned to make a map with more staying power. That's the same challenge all map makers face. It's not too hard to make a map that's fun, but it's hard to make a map with good replayability.

I think they do. They just put something we newsed yesterday on their facebook/twitter today.
I'm going to give this a little bump just to eat a few of my earlier said words. With some more research done, I've got a clearer view on the matter and Rodrigo's stance and position in regards to the map. Looks like you weren't so bad on the advertising side after all - whether you like or dislike the map, I can respect what you've done after all and I'm sorry for my at least partially uninformed negative feedback earlier.

I saw your destructible islands tech video, that was awesome btw. Can't wait to see how that mechanic will play in a map.

those rules have been there from day 1. You couldnt just go change a contract like that.
And publishing it as private is not releasing it.
Sixen = Blizzard.

I never played Debates but from the videos I watched I couldn't help but feel that Debates was far removed from what the Editor is capable of doing.
