"Patch 1.1 will contain a number of improvements including additional mod features, Editor improvements and bug fixes, some custom game improvements, support for NVIDIA’s 3D Vision, and more."
"We are reading your posts on the forums and creating lists of features and bugs to address in future patches. We have mid- to long-term plans to further evolve the Custom Game experience, and soon, enhance our social features with the addition of chat channels."
Coming out in the middle of September. Glad to see that Blizzard is actually working on improving the editor.

I think addition of chat channels is bigger news than improving the editor o.0
nah...editor is x1000 bigger deal to me =)
Also the possibly of changing how we host games as well.
Though chat channels will be nice for sc2mapster. now if only they would fix the US/EU...
To some it is, to others it isn't. The editor has a lot of bugs, the editor has crashed several times on me. Because of that, it limits modders' creativity and ability to do something that would be awesome.

Chat channels are insignificant. Doesn't surprise me that Blizzard delayed on implementing the things. Improving the editor, however, is a much more productive thing to do.
Seriously, why did they waste our time by telling us about the lame balance changes for melee maps when they should have been telling us the cool stuff. Rather than making a post about "this is what the game is losing" it should have been details on mod changes, which could have been a post about "this is what the game is gaining."
I played WoW for a long time, I don't trust Blizzard when it comes to balance changes any longer. So this patch it's some Terran nerfage, I wonder who's up next month, Zerg or Protoss.

Probably Terran again. Especially Zerg won't stop complaining about Terran. Protoss probably neither as they didn't care much about tanks before, too.
I play league too - and I'm equally interested in balance changes and editor fixes.
I just hope that Blizzard changes their lets-not-tell-them-about-the-editor-fixes policy and actually releases a changelog with their changes instead of letting use figure them out.

though I understand what you mean, WOW and sc shouldn't even be said in the same sentence when it comes to balancing issues =P, totally different, plus totally different team working on it.

I would so trade editor improvements with something else much more meaningful, like improving battlenet 2.0 by adding chat channels for social and a normal custom maps list
It's certainly not the opinion of everyone - there's a huge group of people that love playing default against each other for ranks - it's just not my cup of tea (probably partially due to the fact I'm not that good at it) and if it seems like players are winning based more on their faction than their skill then they should definitely make some changes.
However, it's still kind of silly to showcase your patch with something that is going to piss a decent percentage of your players off.
I certainly hope that they do actually list out the changes, rather than make players have to try and figure out what kind of tweaks they made to the system we're starting to get comfortable with.
While it's true that they are two different teams working on the stuff, they are still pretty much the same company. I hope that the people in charge of SC2 don't listen to all of the "this unit/ability is OP" without properly investigating. Far too often it's the people who aren't happy with the system whose voice is being heard, because most of the people who feel that things are okay, aren't going to make a thread about it and possibly might not even check that section of the forums that much.
I have trouble even when it comes to companies like Bioware. I know Bioware makes great games and they're one of my favorite (maybe even the best for RPG fans) labels out there; however, they're now owned by EA Games, a company that is rapidly producing boycotts. I have to constantly remind myself that Bioware is still their own company, because I won't buy a game heavily EA based (like the Sims) any longer.
I love Starcraft, and I'm just fearful that Blizzard is going to ruin it for me; already kind of pissed with the lack of LAN support. Doesn't anyone have LAN parties anymore? While Battle.net is amazing and it was a clever attempt to limit piracy, I don't really like having it shoved down my throat. I also hope that this patch improves the Battle.net experience for those currently using it. While I'm pretty much living in the map editor right now it's still important that they get it functioning the way they promised.
Eh, they made the part about the 'Working on map maker' to seem like their doing something. Im betting that they will do nothing to it in the next patch.

I think blizzard purposely didn't make chat changes and sat back and laughed as they watched us complain. Seriously ..

Hopefully that also means they're working on fixing the bnet lag so we can play some ASWD games!

because there is a massive part of the community that plays league..and balance changes are kinda...super important.
