Unlike in Wings of liberty, the campaign of heart of the swarm did not come prepackaged with all the abilities, weapons and other forms of data that was present in the multiplayer version of the game. Can someone give me a list of all those items in the data editor that are currently exclusive to multiplayer. (Just do the main items such as with the Void Ray, you do not have to list off the behaviors, validators, actors, and effects associated with the Prismatic Alignment ability, just the ability itself and the weapons)
Please no insults. I want to add the multiplayer exclusive abilities to my map without running the risk of causing the errors the editor warns about with mutually exclusive dependencies so I want to be as thorough as possible.
Then can you not just open the Data editor, select the Multiplayer dependency, it will filter all that only Multiplayer uses, then you could copy paste the info you like from Units, Actors, Models etc into your map... I really don't even know any abilities that exist in Multiplayer and are not in the campaign or story.
I haven't compared the two but are you saying for example: Ignite Afterburners, Oracle abilities, Mothership Core abilities are not present when you use HotS Storymode? Isn't that one including HotS Core that includes all melee stufff?
If you mean opening the dependencies list and fake removing the Multiplayer mod, that is what I have been doing. However, In order to find out which abilities are used that way, you must first find a unit that has abilities exclusive to HotS Multiplayer and edit them.
By doing it this way, So far, I have found these items in the data editor do not exist in the campaign (Sorted by unit)-
Thor-
The ability to change anti air weapons and the anti armor weapon
Ghost-
For some reason has an alternate attack button
Mothership and core-
Temporal field
+ A validator relating to the multiplayer swarm host (The swarm host from multiplayer exists separately in the campaign files from the nerfed version you use in the campaign)
Behavior that ends Mass recall (two versions)
Mothership
Mass recall with nexus target (Mothership core version already exists)
Void Ray
Prismatic alignment ability and associated weapons
Oracle
The Envision ability (I.e. makes it a detector)
The pulsar beam ability and associated weapons
If I am doing it wrong, tell me. Otherwise, I am simply trying to double check.
Ps, Ignite afterburners does exist in Multiplayer.
I've been thinking about doing the same thing, but is it not okay to add the multiplayer mod along with the campaign mod? What will it do to the data I've already edited?
Based on what I know, it may cause various errors. And despite what these guys seem to think, I believe it might be a wise idea to have someone create a campaign mod containing the various contents in the multiplayer that do not exist in the base version as a resource for future map makers.
Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.
How is it made without causing bugs? I don't have much trust, though I did want to have a Mod using the Multiplayer stats for melee units with ofc availability to use campaign upgrades, evolutions and researches but the default has to be the same. Though Idk I want to change every single melee unit, then again maybe it's not that much work - one has to modify only the HotS units.
But WoL units in campaign also differ from the melee units done with patches.
