A specific section for sound and music is a great idea! I'm sure that there are lots of people interested in the audio side of map making (myself included), but these threads tend to get lost among the rest.
Hmmm I'd be interested how well it goes.
Maybe we'll get some people who'd post stuff there. And I think there would be a couple of people interested in music/sound effect production.
Audio is really underestimated even though it has great effect on a games atmosphere.
I'm not doing that much with game audio, but I'm doing a bit of home recording. (mainly guitar-heavy music)
It's too generic and doesn't encourage people talking about sound editing :|
And BTW art is usually considered 2d/3d work in da internet!
eh, I could see wanting a subforum, but I think it would be pointless to have an entire forum section for 3-6 people. I just dont think the audience would be there for it, since there is a vast amount of free sounds/ music that people can already use.
I'm undecided personally. Mapster's audience is relatively thin to begin with and we already have a shitton of sub-boards; I'm not sure if it's worth it. On the other hand, if it makes clearer distinctions and helps direct the forums, then what does it really matter if the board's attendence is low? Plus, we can always remove it lateron.
Hold your horses, don't know if we are yet. Most mods so far seem to like the idea, but we've only had a couple of responses. It has to go through Sixen as well and then (I think) Curse.
Hrm... We'll discuss this backstage and I'll think about it some.
I think if you decide not to you should mention music in the artist tavern, and the art tutorial? or whatever, forum descriptions. So that people know its where music is at. I just think as low traffic it would have it could just be put into the artist tavern.
Idk, personally I use favorite music from specific shows and my only playing with Audacity, video and Audio conversions are to try to clean them of effects and speech but once mixed, it's hard and impossible to separate them. Asking someone to recreate the musics is not an option cause they wouldn't make it as accurate as I want. I usually go for combining parts of music if used in more than one places, until I get some purer music.
What about adding one?
So we can make requests and music makers can expose their work!
@Bibendus: Go

The sounds effects, and Voice assets requests would be cool, I have such idea quite long time to start spaming for request.
I've taken up the suggestion in the mod boards.

yep, it costs nothing to try :P
BTW when are you adding it?

You're pretty dedicated to be on at this time of night. ;)
A sound/music section isn't a bad idea. I wouldn't visit it, but it's not a bad idea.

the sound section could even include voice acting for maps ;)
so we have sound/music/voice acting

Added an Audio Development subforum. If it gets so much traffic that it warrants a separate Audio Assets forum, we'll add that in later.
Enjoy! :).

Nice, maye it would be a good idea to move this thread inside it
