A straight-forward TD game is very easy to make compared to most types of games, especially other content-based games like RPGs or adventure games. I suppose a unit-massing game wouldn't be too hard to make either.
The hard work of a TD is balancing, applying math to the game, and implementing meaningful game design decisions. Most of the TDs out there don't have this, so it's really easy to slap together a vanilla TD game. But hey, it's also a great way to learn the editor and the game type is naturally addictive for a lot of people.
Plus the best (imo) beginner-haven't-ever-looked-at-the-editor-before tutorial is the beginner TD tutorial by onetwo. I know that originally I was going to make a TD because of that tutorial, which could have something to do with it. Not to mention that TDs are sorta fun to make.

In fact, I had an unique design, and a complete PvP enviroment, where "kill enemy waves" was important, yes, but only as a method of slowing your enemies. The real deal was to make your wave survive the others' tds and steal their lifes.
Balancing is hard, too. You must make a lot of numbers, and it's somewhat boring.
But yeah, too many TDs around. I might retake it once I'm done with my current project.
Thats where I started, if your a beginner that tutorial was a great help to me. For this thread, im currently working on another map but i do have alot of work done on a TD that i hope to finish someday if that counts.
Welllllllllll. Mine might count as a TD. Its like Cat N Mouse, but in order to get money the runners build themselves something that is kindof like a TD. So they can get enough money to kill the chasers.

You mean Thought Defense maps like Debatesssss?
No, unless you are using your mind to stop a hoard of enemy units from reaching a special destination before you run out of lives.

No. I was talking about using your mind to stop a hoard of enemy words from reaching a special argument before you run out of time.

In that case, sure why not?
Word.
I'm making a TD, it has been my only project since the first day of beta. I live, breathe, and dream TDs now.
LOL =')
Touché.
I had one.
Saw 9001 people making TDs, too.
I don't have it anymore.

Hatred level rising.
