I used to be pretty active on here about 2 years ago maybe longer . I have returned and it seems as thought SC2M is completely dead, Where did everyone go ?!
It has definitely quieted down, but there's still quite a lot of people here. I would say that one reason is that SC2 is no longer as new and therefore drawing less attention and new people, and another reason for the lack of posts would be that most of the regulars have been regulars for a while now and are experienced enough with the editor to not need to open help threads (And we've accumulated a lot of threads over time, so we've got a lot of questions already covered)
If a "Hot" thread is opened, like the religion thread a while ago, you'll see that it'll get fat with posts incredibly quickly. There just unfortunately isn't much to talk about anymore - all the HotS beta stuff has already been discussed, we just finished our beta key contest thingys, I already explained the situation with the newb help. We'll get a couple of threads a day, plus a good amount of posts in some ongoing threads (Project threads, modelers showing off their stuff, etc.) and we usually have a couple of threads in offtopic and general active.
Yea, there used to be more people here, but I wouldn't say Mapster is dead. I've seen forums that were far worse off :p (Look at sc2armory - Latest 5 posts thingy there usually goes into multiple hours last I checked, and that site is still alive :p )
There should be more activity once HotS hits as more people come back to the game and there's new stuff to discover in the editor. Hopefully that'll attract some more attention to the Forum RPG*
If you're looking for help with a problem, make a thread with the problem/question and leave it alone for a while. Keep time zones in mind - There are certain parts of the day where there is little forum activity. Alternatively, go to the IRC or add some people on skype / PM people.

Appreciate the offer Taintedwisp, But I am looking for more trigger related help, I am scared of the trigger editor, The data editor was more friendly to me.
Post exact questions, and you'll receive answers :) I'm fairly certain there's more trigger than data people on this site, and most people that do data are relatively good at triggers as well. If you want more general help / be able to get an answer immediately, I recommend adding one or more people on some IM like skype or hanging around the IRC. While I may generally be a data guy, I know a good amount of triggering stuff and can help with that as well.
Yeah We are quiet We just ninjas and dont talk to much lol Me im a newcomer i have created a team a couple of Mods including one that deals with textures and like 5 or six projects/Maps
If you spend some time refining your searches and asking in the irc channel, you can generally find what your looking for regarding the trigger editor.
Most things have been covered a few times over throughout the forum. Just kinda hard to find with the current search tool.
Im told if you use google to search just sc2mapster you may end up with more specific results.
Also for anybody who needs help on triggers. I'm generally available on skype.
I just dont have time to do any specific coding for anybody these days.

It might take awhile to get responses because that vast majority of us are likely working on our projects since we pretty much all the information we need at our finger tips. If you can't find specific answers on the forums join IRC and ask in there. I'm sure things will pick up again once star tools and hots are released. Triggers can be tricky at first but once you get a hold of them I think they are easier to work with than data.
Hots might pick it up for a little bit. I hope blizzard plays it smart this time, last time they were VERY stupid in what they did... they released the game and then went silent... when HoTS comes out, they need to double their efforts go all in, help build and establish major communities while everyone is checking back into the editor. they need to think right this time...
Also the HoTS beta is always like 100-200 people, thats very bad... I dont expect much from HoTS sales, they have scrapped half of the already low count of units they said would be in there.... many people are not happy. myself included, I am ONLY, and I repeat ONLY buying it, because of recent Dev support.
Laregly because of the forum layout. If I wanted the site to die intentionally then I would lay it out like mapster, basically split all the forums into many sections, Have some at the top some at the bottom. Confuse people as much as I can, discourage people regularly visiting 1 or 2 sections daily and getting involved.
Posting a thread in project section for example, even well written, with a youtube vid, pretty pictures etc. it hardly gets noticed. You might get lucky or get news'd that's the only way.
But I've said it before so I'll just leave it at that.
EDIT: I really hope when HOTS comes out and we get a big wave/boost, the layout is improved.

Woah buddy. Couple of things:
1) The split of all mapping subjects (Terraining, UI, Data, etc) is done on purpose. Sure, all forums are relatively quiet, but if we had one board for all of that it'd be spammed like heck and it would be terrible to find topics about your intended subject.
2) Any good project can get newsed. Check the sticky on top of this board. We need projects to put on the frontpage, so we're happy with anyone PMing us about it.

Still plenty of people around, not sure where you're looking.
I've been around longer than a year and it seems as dead as it was when I first got here.
Just seems like finding help on somethings now is very difficult.

This
Don't use the sc2mapster search, its useless to put it nicely
Well, this is a site for developers. Who is still developing? That is how dead it is.
I like to think that we're all too busy crafting our masterpieces to bother posting about them.

Mapping is a seasonal thing for me. Sometimes you feel like doing cool shit and sometimes not :/
