Alright, so - I was on holiday and out of the loop for a couple of days, but I'm guessing we probably should've shared the following with you:
We (being the mods), have been 'creatively' pestering Curse about the spam for a while now (read: leaving interesting messages in the ban log), and have gotten a response from Kaelten on the backstage board:
I've spoken with the core moderation team we have for other sites on the author platform. They're going to be coming by when on shift to help lend a hand. We don't have a queue mechanism or the like so it's pretty hard to make it perfect. :(
We have some stuff coming later this year that should help alleviate the issue, in the mean time we're in this with you guys.
It may not be much (and honestly, there's people out there who would say I'm putting it lightly), but it's something and any new actions regarding the spam issue should take it into account.
Whoa!! That is awesome. When you say carry on...should we continue with our letter writing campaign or hold off on it. I don't want to piss anyone off and we have such a weird tenuous relationship with Curse.
Also..."we're in this with you guys," is a very positive comment. Perhaps I am reading too much into it, but maybe they are anticipating more traffic or use in the coming year.

Don't ask me what to do, use your own judgement. There's people who don't care for Kaelten's comment as well as those who view it as a good thing. I'm just passing on the information, you should decide for yourself what you want to do with it.
As for my personal stance: I've always thought that if the situation is indeed the same on other Curse sites (I find it hard to believe, but I haven't checked and can't be bothered to), there's some serious incompetence going on on Curse's end: I've seen websites ran by a single person with less spam issues - it can't be this hard to get better protection installed. That said, I have to admit that there's been less work for me on the spam removing front since that post. May be coincidence, may be the cavalry. I don't particularly care either way. I'll see where it goes.

Ducky...nicely done!! I think that is our letter for sure!!
Should we target this page?
http://www.curseinc.com/
It has this quote on it:
"We're passionate about creating the best tools and communities for the millions of gamers that use our sites every day."
It has an email/Get in touch dropbox? It only has 4 options, which don't really scream loudly to me that they will address our issue.
I'm a little hesitant to contact on the of VPs or President, but we don't really have a lot to lose.
Opinions?
Also, I'm going to ask Sixen to post on the front of the site so we can gin up a bunch of letters, once we figure out who to contact.
bump!!

That said, carry on.

Tell me what to do Mozared.

It means "continue as you see fit".
^ This.
