This streamer Total Biscuit who used to do a lot of SC is coming back to the scene. TB is a pretty big deal. He was enthusiastic to try out Arcade maps and showcase them on this channel. Check him out and maybe throw your map in his comments or recommend maps to him.
Any big names giving SC2 and RTS exposure is a good thing! In response to YouTube Starcraft being dead, there are a number of things to say about that.
Low viewership on YouTube is quite relative. Relative to 2011-2012, it's quite low because the big names are gone, the playerbase has shrunk, and the last 5 years has seen a huge trend towards livestreaming content. SC2 does poorly in livestreaming because there are no personalities that stream PvP content with that real OOMPH. Also, it's hard to interact with viewers while playing an RTS game live. Not to be controversial, but the remaining names (other than Lowko) rely on quite a lot of drama and childish behavior that draws (young) people in. If you don't compare the present to those olden days, Lowko has quite a solid following. I have some qualifications to make some statements about YouTube and I will say that subscribers really don't matter, it's about how many of those actually translate into video views and he has a pretty good ratio!
It's not like the hundreds of thousands of viewers Husky and Day9 had dispersed out to smaller channels. Those viewers are just plain gone - playing, watching, doing something else. A channel with 100 followers is less than 2% compared to my viewerbase, and yet my viewerbase is less than 1% of Husky's. The numbers are staggering. Even 100 channels with 100 followers each is not even a tiny dent in the numbers we used to see from one of the heavy hitters from the early 2010's. On the other hand, Husky's channel is inactive as are most of his subscribers, so seeing 600,000+ subscribers really doesn't mean anything at all whereas I have 6,000 with around 20% of that translating into actual views/engagement. This is much higher than the average once you break out of the triple digits of subscribers - both humblebragging and as an FYI that sub #'s really do not translate into engagement. There are a slew of gaming channels with 50,000 subscribers, yet their new videos get maybe 200-300 views.
Anyway, that's the depressing way to look at things, but that doesn't mean things are still declining. Lowko has a strong channel and even lower to midrange ones like mine continue to gain followers. It's important to be realistic in understanding that there will probably never be a big exponential boom again, but we can keep growing at a slow pace simply because people still play and enjoy the game and the RTS genre. I have hope that TB's presence will grab some new folks and bring some old folks back into the fold. And hey, if that doesn't work, we still have a small, but solid, scene that's growing slowly but surely.
Having a big numbers is nice and helps draw in more folks, but I'm also perfectly happy with lowers numbers where those numbers are actually people watching and playing, not just empty numbers of people who disappear and never return.

Why do I write essays like this?? I always think about people that do that thing where they quote every sentence to make an absurdly detailed response to stuff and think "No one's going to ever read that"! Yet here I am, making crazy long posts.

me read walls of text..
interested in the subject matter..
no pee on walls or even trees (hound joke sorry had to)
Your long posts are very cohesive, which makes them interesting and easy to read and follow. Some people could learn a thing or two from how you write.
Regarding your essay, I would much rather watch a channel like yours where a vast majority of the viewer engagement consists of content related feedback instead of a channel whose viewers consist of nonsensical spammers.
Check out my YouTube channel for test playthroughs of custom campaigns as well as editor tutorial videos. Mapmakers, don’t hesitate to PM me if you would like me to test your campaign.
Maybe Sc2mapster community could talk with TotalBiscuit to put the bi-weekly test to the next lvl: Totalbiscuit would do a test match on the current bi-weekly test map(s) and popularize it by this way.
A major hurdle I see with this is actually getting in contact with him. He's a very big name and I'm sure his Public Relations guy gets a shit ton of requests. And the BWTT is something that is pretty specific and is really just getting started here. If we are going to ask him anything, it needs to be more general than the BWTT.

I'm interested in doing something like this for campaigns, with a tidbit for 5 or 6 very good ones. I'll give it some clickbaity title and put it on TL and the subreddit, but it's also a lot of work to make a post that traditionally doesn't go anywhere. Either way, I'll do this, but not until after my vacation. We also could tweet it at TB, but it's really just rolling the dice on whether he sees it and also cares at all about it.

It be good to throw it at Nathanias and Basetradetv. They both seem to like playing mods and campaigns stuff on their respective channels. Also, sending it to the Community people at sc2 is always a good idea. I send them a weekly email telling them about all the good stuff on the CCI. They might hate me...
If you happen to want any clips from campaigns that I've played that you haven't gotten to yet just let me know.

TotalBiscuit has pretty much quit social media as far as I know. I don't blame him either. There are a lot of assholes to deal with out there, especially when you are as popular as him, on top of the fact that he's dealing with cancer.
I still think it would be cool to have a video with the top 5 or so campaigns out there right now. Maybe even do additions to this video later on.

I wouldn't make anything as a request for someone else in any case. I planned on making a campaign thing to spread some awareness, not to beg for scraps. TB seems like a nice guy, but I really don't get behind the reverence folks have for big YouTubers.
We're talking about him like he's something that we need to earn. Who cares, he's some guy just like we all are. Maybe we'll get some overflow interest from his followers, maybe not, and you also can't blame the people who want to send a request for trying to tap into that. It's not like it should be expected of people to know he doesn't take requests.

I thought SC was dead on YouTube except for a few guys like LowkoTV. It's great to see some steam being gathered up at long last.
KSNumedia's Assets: Custom Models for campaigns and mods!
TB is not my cup of tea, but he is a consummate professional ..
if he is "serious" about the arcade, it'd be the best news since wol came out (news for the arcade).
mmm Now to learn how to blow a biscuit totally mmmm <3

It''s mostly been split by dozens and dozens of us smaller channels doing custom content

Someone should do a "sc2mapster maps" video.. showcasing 10 15 different maps in 3 minutes, showing the diversity that are these halls we use!
place it on front page and link it in a pm to him (on his platforms)
not that some people will not have already outlined it for him .. who's to say what was said..
...
if people would trust me with their footage, i'd be up for putting all the maps we can get..
just send me a video link to download your own video showcasing your games and i'll do a few rough cuts of 3 minute spots..
we discuss, i remake one that everyone agrees for
present it on for the people who gave their videos and mapster representatives (so it would be mapster's video, not mine not yours)
post or pm if applicable/interested in the idea
i really think with the proper motivation we can churn out a video in a week and one we can be proud of...
Bring it Jay!
That's so much wooooooooooooooooorkkk

Just so you guys know: TotalBiscuit doesnt take requests. At all. He has explicitly stated this multiple times.
It is likely that any request video you might make or email you send him that seems like a request wont be viewed at all.
